I’ve been following Liam since he appeared on FIF. I’m nothing but impressed with his work ethic and passion for his craft. If I had a Hoffman axe and some Nicks boots I would use them for all my family outdoor adventures. I would then make my kids compete for my affection to see who gets them when I pass. 😉

I’ve been a proponent of Liam’s for years, since he was killing it with Audrey, and love sending customers his way. I’d love my very own Hoffman axe, like it was a second child (don’t tell my other axes I said that). There doesn’t seam to be a better more perfectly matched set than a pair of Nicks beautiful boots and a Hoffman axe to give a guy a lifetime of wood harvesting adventures. I would gladly wear these boots while teaching in Baltimore city, to show my students what quality really looks like, and then strait home and into the shop to show the world on KZbin, and then to the woods to process some wood for the fire pit with the Hoffman. Couldn’t ask for a better day.

Great video. Thanks for sharing your talents. This November me and my buddy are taking a small group of young men from our community out to experience camping and get some outdoor experience for their first time. Our community isn’t necessarily outdoors focused so giving these kids a chance to experience that world is a big deal. We hope to make this a frequent event. Wearing these boots and swinging this axe, teaching them to chop wood and care for our outdoors would be an epic experience! Cheers.

I recently purchased my own piece of land on a small inland lake where my Grandfather use to take me fishing when I was young. It is a little wooded island that I remember exploring with him. My hope is to build a small log cabin, clearing a spot on the island by hand. It will be a multi-year project. Whenever I take on a new build, time doesn't matter, I am all about quality. I love working with my hands and look forward to this project. A cabin, built by hand, with the help of a hand-forged, overbuilt Hoffman axe and a pair of Nicks Handmade Boots, both showing real American Handcrafted quality, well that would just make the project even sweeter.

Im moving back to Mozambique from Canada. Not much you can't handle in the African bush the help of a good axe and a reliable pair of boots. Im also a blacksmith. I use charcoal for my fuel source, which I make my self. A good strong axe would defiantly increase production and make it all just that much more enjoyable. Thanks for doing this. Both amazing products which I would maintain and use well. Cheers

Not gonna lie, I hated my last pair of boots. They were cheap Brahma garbage made in some sweatshop with no care or attention. They fell apart after only 8 months. The soles and heels were made out of hollow rubber instead of solid rubber cores and fake leather instead of real. A real pair of boots like these would be a Godsend! I do about three miles worth of walking per day on different surfaces, concrete, asphalt, gravel, moving materials. Then on the weekends, I take my daughter out into the woods for walks and wilderness education. As for the axe, this would go well with my Go-bag or my BOB, either to be a supplement to or as a replacement for a hatchet I've had for nearly 20 years, which would also be going to my daughter at some point.

I am a volunteer construction worker living in CA right now, helping to build places of worship and provide disaster relief. I am also a camping enthusiast. I work part time to facilitate my volunteering and camp whenever I get the chance. Quality boots are obviously very important whether you're hiking trails or building concrete forms, both of which I love to do. It's been a dream to own a pair of Nicks and a good camp axe for a while now. My aim is to be equipped to volunteer even more for disaster relief because as we all know there are plenty of disasters happening right now. It's an awesome give away you're doing and it's awesome to see how people are keeping craftsmanship alive and making it accessable on KZbin. Keep up the great work!

I have been a huge boot nerd after switching from sneakers over a year ago. I also just finished building my home in rural northern California. While the interior is done (mostly) i still have a ton of work to do on the exterior of the house as well as the property. These boots and axe will give me the proper tools to prepare wood for the winter as well as continuing to push through all the outdoor tasks that still need to be done. Ive gone for years using non-handmade goods and am ready for the boots and axe that will last me and my home for a lifetime. Thanks and keep up the good work!

I remember seeing a kid on facebook/Etsy selling some sweet copper looking rings! From that first purchase to the saddle axe my wife bought me for our anniversary, I have loved using what Liam has made and following what he has been building. I wear boots every day for work, lots of it in the mountains. I’ve moved from the desert of the southwest to the Pacifica northwest in the last few years. I look forward to teaching my boys the value of hard work and passing on to them the skill of using an axe. I’m sure if it is one of Liam’s axes, they will one day be passing it on to their children as an heirloom. Keep up the great work, brother! I’m proud to support what you do!

There are products that are not something you use for a short time and throw away, there are heirloom quality items that can last for generations. Other Nicks Boots and Hoffman Blacksmithing made products are perfect examples. I have been a city person my whole life but have come to appreciate being I. The country. I am currently on my way on a deployment. I’ve worn thru many boots over years that just can’t handle day to day moving thru bush and day to day standing and walking. These boots would have the chance to test themselves in one of the most hostile places in the world, Africa. In addition to being in the Army. I have a start up game going, right now we have 21 chickens and a large garden set up for next year. I’ve had to cut down plenty of small timber on my land and turn it to firewood. Using some off the shelf axe made that work long and hard. This ax would also have be used for family camping and passed down to the next generation. Been a big fan of your work since I originally saw you with the Samurai Carpenter. Both of you have influenced how I do work on my house and look at tools. I will still be saving and looking for when I can get an ax of yours to take home after this! Y’all keep working hard!

Liam's videos helped me get started working with and restoring, hand tools. Especially the videos on hanging an axe handle and proper use of a drawknife. It's been a couple of years now, my collection has grown and I've been using them quite a bit. I recently finished off a round wood framed woodshed, since lumber prices went through the roof, and have a list of projects to complete this autumn. I've put a beating on my current boots and have been drooling over Nick's Instagram page for a while. New axe and new boots would be put to good use around the property!

I love your Axe's and Nick's boots. I was a part of layoffs during covid 19. It was a blow to me and my family but I turned it into a positive and decided to learn forging and knife making. It has been a wild year but I have sold my first batch of knives and it feels great. Watching your informative videos have helped me achieve that goal and I can't wait to see what's in store. If I won, I'd obviously wear those boots every day in the garage making knifes! The axe is something that I'd always have in the truck. Whether I'm camping with my family or driving for work, you never know when you'll need a great axe! Love your work and keep up the amazing job!

Growing up, working and living off the land since a young age, both in the mountains and hills, I learnt very quickly to place my trust in quality made gear that you can depend on with your life. Living this closely with the land also made me conscience about wastage that is disposable equipment and clothing. Both Nicks Boots and your Axes will last a lifetime of dependable and quality use if looked after (with maybe a new handle and a few resoles). To serve me and my family, living the life our ancestors did, in the mountains and hills.

I was just on your website last night looking at your axe ordering schedule. I have a baby on the way and it has had me thinking about the quality of the tools I buy, as I’ve been inheriting tools from my grandparents. My grandfather is no longer in the shape necessary to care for the land he lives on so, I have taken it over so he may continue to enjoy the land that he has taken care of so well for my whole life. Just yesterday I fell 6 trees on the property and bucked them for firewood (you can see where the axe would come in handy). I also work for the town I live in taking care of the town’s weed and fire abatement, I am on my feet 10hours a day at work then I go home to take care of my pregnant wife and 2 dogs, or to my grandparents to help them. It would be a true blessing to own either a pair of nicks boots or a Hoffman axe. The thought of owning both is truly overwhelming. Thank you for putting this together

Both the boots and the ax are remnants of a better time, when putting your name to something was a meaningful expression of who that person or company was, and the quality they stood for. It was taking pride in their craftsmanship. As a fireman I understand the need for comfortable, well made boots when doing wild land firefighting. I would use the boots in so many different applications from working in my shop, going hiking in the mountains or if on a wild land fire deployment. The ax would be an heirloom tool that would be used around the property, taken camping, teaching my son to appreciate and use quality tools. It would be taken care of and passed down to my son. The chainsaw may be quicker at felling a tree - but the solace and enjoyment that comes from an ax cannot be beat from time to time. Keep up the great work!

Liam, I've been subscribed to your channel from the days of your first shop. LOVED your video's, LOVE your product. I purchased one of your camp axe's way back when and truly appreciate your craftsmanship! Nick's boots ARE amazing boots. I've wanted a pair for several years now but have been in and out of employment so purchasing them has been a "wish list" item. I use my camp axe around the property and it stays nice and sharp, especially when I do a touch-up with the sharpening puck. But boots nowadays leave much to be desired. Nick's boots incorporates the items that I need in a proper pair of boots. Things like arch support and metatarsal support. Years back when my Sears steel toe work shoes gave up the ghost (they did have the arch support and metatarsal support that I needed) I had to buy sub-standard boots. My feet pained me 24 hours a day because my arches were falling and there was no metatarsal support. It would be wonderful to have a pair of boots, especially Nick's boots, that incorporate that which I need for happy feet! Peace, Love and Happiness to you and your family.

Entering this contest was easy, since I was already subscribed to both channels! I’ve been following Nicks boots ever since you first introduced them on your channel and the craftsmanship and care that goes into them is incredible. I would love a pair for my shop as I continue to improve my blacksmithing and metalworking hobbyist skills, all the boots I’ve owned get destroyed in no time flat and just leave my feet hurting after a long day of grinding or hammering. As far as your axes not much needs to be said, they are works of art and I’ve seen first hand in your shop the dedication you’ve poured into them to make them the best axes being made today. I would make sure it’s by my side every time me, my girlfriend and our dogs go hiking and camping in the blue ridge. We have a trip coming up at the end of October so this would be perfect!

I decided to start smithing during COVID, after talking about it for years. I bought Liam's book and started acquiring tools and equipment. I even inquired about lessons with him. When I'm not working my day job or being a husband & dad, I'm down in the shop practicing and creating. 10 months in and I'm making what are starting to be functional axes (and a few knives). I won't be quitting my day job any time soon :) but it's a creative and physical outlet I really need. Those boots would be awfully nice in the shop, and the axe....well, I'm sure I'd use it, but I'd probably hang it on the wall for a while as an example of what I'm aspiring to some day. 51 yrs old and still learning new things.

My wife and I got married this year after delaying because of COVID and now have plans for fly fishing and camping for 6 weeks. Planning on Pacific NW, Yellowstone, then back to my birthplace in Vermont. Having a high quality axe that allows us to be off the grid during our travels is imperative. I’ve had a pair of Filson boots and these boots would be a great replacement for my outdoor activities and chores around the shop & house.

I'm going to be up in Alaska for work in the next few months, and I'll need a boot that can take some serious work without giving up! Especially between the freezing winter/spring and the wet rainforest summers up there Nicks would be fantastic footwear. Owning a Hoffman axe would be a dream come true as well, I've wanted one since high school :) Plus it would match the boots in craftsmanship and workability. Count me in for this one!

I've been in the professional tree industry for years in the northeast, I wear a pair of loggers to work every day and never caught without an axe on the jobsite. Been into bushcraft and blacksmithing for a while and been after a Hoffman axes for some time... a sweet setup

I've been a laborer for 16 years and have never had a pair of boots last Me longer than 6 months, and believe me I've tried all of the big names. The LH axe would be the icing on the cake, I've watched your videos for a year now religiously before work and they always put me in a good mood because of your hard work and great attitude. I always laugh at the outtake clips you put in your videos, it shows us viewers a side of you that we all can relate to! Thank you for the giveaway and keep up the video posting! Ps I've got a 117lb Peter Wright being shipped to me as we speak...you inspired me to pick up a hobby I've wanted to do my entire life, since way before forged in fire came out :) take care

These are so swanky, love the boots and the axe. I’m always out in the woods felling limbs, so anything to help make a slick ass cut and anything to prevent ticks from popping my “sweet mama give me them” ankles...I’m all for it. Quality over quantity! Keep it up fellas!

As a maker myself, I've come to really appreciate hand made tools and items. Everyday Im making forging hammers. Hot scale, steel, and sparks wear out my clothes and boots pretty quickly. I have been wanting some Nick's boots to withstand the conditions I work in. As for the axe, I know from my experience that the right forging hammer makes all the difference. I can only imagine how a proper axe can be a game changer. I could use a nice axe for splitting logs for the stove this winter. We already got 5 inches of snow in Montana.

I am a new axe thrower and I'm just getting started into blacksmithing. Having grown up in Amish country I have always been around smithing, but never really thought I could do it. Just last weekend I took my first blacksmithing class. I would totally use these boots for smithing and throwing. I would also love to be able to try out the camp axe on the target I built in my backyard and in league competition!

Well I was already subscribed to Hoffman Blacksmithing and Nicks Boots- so that part was easy! Just shows what a good partnership Hoffman and Nicks are, they both represent top tier hand crafted products which age and wear with you- throughout your life. I am in Australia and I would want to put the Hoffman Axe and Nicks boots to the test making a small log cabin by hand- from Karri (an Australian Hardwood). The edge holding characteristics and ergonomics of the axe would make it more efficient felling and notching of the logs, the robustness and support (and loggers heel!) of the Nicks boot would back me up when trekking through the forest sourcing lumber.

I've been dreaming of getting my hands on a set of nicks boots since your first review of them. Haven't had the means yet, but one day I'll be repping a set of nicks on my feet, working hard in the shop, makings knifes and what ever has you. The camp axe would be great to have to be able to bring camping and show the youth group, I'm a leader to, what quality is and how to properly swing an axe.

I have been looking at nicks boots for a very long time, could say a dream pair of boots. They would be on my feet at work on a construction site, out in the Field/woods with my horses and even my humble blacksmiths shop, they would be on my feet 7 days a week all day. A Hoffman axe is in my eye the pinnacle of all Axes, hand crafted and A definite inheritance peace. One of these axes would sort all my fire wood and bush work thought summer and winter. This GAW really will make my work and day to day chores a whole lot easier and enjoyable😆

I’ve recently begun the art of blacksmithing. The internet has been an amazing teacher at times but it lacks what a mentor can offer. I feel with a sturdy pair of boots and an awesome axe template I can make my own amateur axe.

Been wanting a pair of nicks and a Hoffman axe(got two on order) since first i heaed of em!! Love that both are high quality, made in US and they're repairable. Id wear/use em daily on the farm, in the shop and in the woods.

I"m a forester and a wildland firefighter, and I've been wearing Nicks for about 10 years. They are by far the best bang for the buck in the boot world today. Turns out, my current pair are about due for a rebuild. Were I to win, I'd have the ones I already have rebuilt and set aside as a spare set, and start a new pair next spring. Those 2 ought to get me through the rest of my career. As for the axe: that's a normal forestry tool that gets used all the time. I'd rotate something out of my truck and this axe into its place.

As a cattle veterinarian, I am on my feet all day. Some days I walk 3-4 miles along the leadup to the squeeze chute as we work cattle. Boots are EVERYTHING to your feet. The axe would be for everything from work (opening the rib cage for post mortem exams on cattle) to play (taking the kids camping and teaching them woodsmanship) to keeping the household running (firewood). I am to the stage in life where quality is far more important than quantity. Liam says life long purchase...that's right up my wheelhouse!

A Hoffman axe would be a great addition to the teaching tools I have to teach my kids not only how to care for their tools, but how to help maintain the 10 acre wooded lot we're fortunate enough to call home. And the boots, well it was ‐36° last winter, and this winter is quick approaching. Guessing I'm gonna need a good boot. Thanks to both of you and your companies for giving away your precious time in the form of a product gaw. Good luck to all that enter!

I have been thinking about getting both Nick’s boots and one of your axes. I would wear the boots all day as an electrician and then into the garage to forge knives. I grew up hunting and fishing and camping but moved to a city for work and haven’t got out enough for years. I have been changing that now that my sons are old enough to come with me. I would make great use of your axe “rekindling” my love of the outdoors, and teaching my boys how awesome it is.

I try to get out into some rugged Backcountry a few times a year for camping and adventure and a good axe and pair of boots are always necessary equipment for such adventures. Definitely would use them on my next trip up to Minnesota's boundary waters.

I never camped growing up. But it is something I enjoy greatly now that I am grown up and married. My in-laws took me camping for the first time, and it's now a way for me to get closer to them.

Never had a pair of Nick's, but they'd get put to use doing what they do best: work. The axe looks like a Cadillac of a tool, and it would receive the same sentence as the boots. A lifetime of hard work.
@nickpipitone14403 жыл бұрын
I've wanted a pair of Nick's boots for years. Outside my price range. I work on concrete 10 to 12 hours a day and wear out boots fairly quick. As for the axe. I have been following you for years and have admired the work the entire time.

Aww man what a beastly combination. From Felling trees on the Job to Touring Scotland in my old Jeep. This pair would never leave my side. Well done to both Liam and the Team at Nicks for blowing it out the park each and every time 💪

Ever since I’ve heard of you and you axes, I’ve wanted one. There’s something special about an object that’s made with the intention to last. Your axe would supplement my spoon carving and camping trips. Nick’s boots would support me daily in the wood shop where I make custom furniture full time in Nashville. Keep crushing it y’all!

I've been using the axe that my grandfather purchased from Sears many moons ago. My dad used it before he passed and I took it over. Dad cracked it on a wedge and I had it rewelded and I rehafted it about 4 years ago. I'd like to retire that girl and have a better "legacy" axe to hand down. And I'm about to walk out of my Dunhams. A new pair of Nick's would upgrade my tractor and leave a great trail around the property. This is a super cool give away. Thanks y'all !

I have been wanting to pick up a pair of Nicks boots for a while now, just never had the money. The same goes for all of the stuff you guys are making, your aprons look amazing, and I have loved seeing your buisness grow. If I won, I would use the boots at my work (unless they are not steel toe that is) which is to maintain Jet Aircraft and their engines. I would use the axe when I go camping, and it would probably become an herloom when I get old.

A quality boot and a quality tool is so important in the shop and in the bush. My son is just starting out in hunting this year and having the right tools is always a good idea.

I'm building my shop right now and working in three others, so if I got a pair of nick's boots they would be on my feet 12 hours a day almost every day to keep me safe and running. The axe might not see 60 hour weeks like the boots would, but the axe bar that I work at recently burned down so it seems only fitting that the best axes you can get in north america would help us tear down and clear out so that we could rebuild better than ever.
@kristianraston73633 жыл бұрын
Along with taking both out in numerous adventures in the Australian bush, I’ll be christening both with removing dying gum trees on my property before the summer fire season begins. Once the wood has dried, I will be using the axe to split firewood during winter camping trips in the outback while the boots keep my feet protected and warm. To top it off, when my son’s old enough (he just turned 1) I’ll be handing down the axe, starting a hopefully very long family tradition of always taking the Raston family heirloom camping axe out when heading out into the Aussie outback.

We are clearing our land in Alaska and soon to be pouring our foundation piles for our cabin. My three sons are always competing with their hatchets while cutting firewood. Our bodies and our tools see many hours of work up here.

My wife and I are in the process of selling our house in AZ to move to north Georgia to be closer to family as they get older. The boots would be great for every day use as a dad of 2 young children as they grow up in the woods and creeks of north Georgia. The axe could easily build many forts and tree houses as well help to gather for family campfires. Both of these items would be put to the test to see if they truely can last a lifetime and be passed to the next generation to be used to make that many more memories.

We camp all the time, would love a sweet high-quality ax to help with shelter building and firewood processing. And boots are all I wear, and the 8 years of work I have put on my current pair has taken its toll. About time for a new pair!

My husband and I, already own two of your axes and he loves them. I would give this axe as a Christmas present. I need a good pair of boots for the farm. We have 23 chickens and two pairs of goats. I am learning how to operate the tractor and some of the implements. Thanks Connie

Thanks for the opportunity guys! Big fan of liams work but have never tried the boots. The camp axe would stay at my cabin to be used for various tasks up there. The boots would be worn when I’m sawing or splitting wood, possibly some hiking , fishing , and 3D shoots!
@scottfincher5993 жыл бұрын
I would admire the quality and craftsmanship of both as I laced up the boots and picked up the axe. A days work of clearing and building, admiring again at the end of the day, prepping them for the next day. Both are top shelf tools.

I am an orthotic and prosthetic technician who makes custom braces and prosthetics everyday. I have tried to wear boots before and just haven’t found a pair that stays comfortable all day. I am currently wearing an old pair of broken in vans, but they are comfy! I’ve seen Nick’s boots before and they sound like the best. I take Liam’s word that you I could wear them in a workshop all fay long. I would also use the boots out in my yard at the same time I would use that Hoffman camp axe. I have many trees that could use some axe work and this axe would make retrieving fire wood a blast! These axes are beautiful and I would use it as much as I could.

I work as a lineman in Utah. These boots would go through hell and back. And the camp axe. I would use to make beautiful works of art.
