The high end is due to those roundwounds which I think should almost never be on a Hofner,but that's just my opinion. Put some nice flatwounds on and you get rich, buttery ,deep mellow goodness!

Strnage how much high end comes through, but on The Beatles recordings it sounded thumpy,stumpy and thick...
