Another lively tune, great work! ☺ The melody sounds like The Dreadnoughts "Lifeboat Man". I find it interesting how many shanties/ folk songs have the same melody but different lyrics.

I think you're right. Like a lot of sailor songs, they didn't shy away from dirty lyrics or suggestions.

I think a hog-eye is a skiff so a "hog-eye man" is a guy who has a little riverboat and pretends to be a sailor to pick up chicks
