Hog's Back Waterfalls on the Rideau Canal - Ottawa, Ontario

We take a 20 minute break during our trip to Ottawa to explore Hog's Back Park and Falls. The spring melt water is flowing quickly and the volume produces a thunderous flow through the narrow rock outcrops in the area.

Thanks very much VS. I’m happy to hear that you survived the tornados the other day. I was concerned for your safety. I guess they are coming your way again tomorrow. That must be crazy with those storms marching through there so frequently. Keep your eyes to the sky!

Herve, welcome to my world! lol Great segment Todd, and beautiful videography, as always. Excellent time of year, to check out the roaring Rideau River. I've made many bicycle trips around there, for over 15 years. Such a pretty spot, you have done great justice to! Thank you for sharing this! Pat

Thanks very much Pat. Happy to have done justice to the Hog’s Back. I did feel considerable pressure knowing that you might see the video. I wanted to make it worthy of a small spot on TV. Not sure I made that but hopefully passable. I visited this site in summer about 30 years ago (geeesh) but did not remember much detail about it. It was very nice to see it with all the ice around. You have a nice riding area there with Moodies Bay just to the south.

@@hervedelnorte7928 Truly great work Todd! Very nice time of year as well, to capture the beauty of the raging water. Plus, there aren't many sightseers around yet. I am somewhat like you, I prefer the solitude and beauty of nature, and the gravel trail right along the Ottawa River from Parliament Hill to Orleans is the path I love myself, and recommend. It runs parallel with the Sir George-Etienne Cartier Parkway. Formerly, the Rockcliffe Parkway, near the Aviation Museum. Beautiful area. Especially, in the early morning during the summer. Though you are right beside the busy streets of the City of Ottawa, it has a secluded peaceful feel. Much like the Cat Trail or K&P Trail. Your channel is a simply wonderful travelogue, of some of the most beautiful places in Southeastern Ontario. Thank you! Pat

@@seanmitchell4382 Thanks again. I’ll have to get to that trail you mention. It sounds very nice and my brother lives not far from there. I’ll wait for the warmer weather though before I go there. 😀
