The final episode is the one where a V2 rocket is moved inside the camp. Burchalter and Klink launch the rocket, it malfunctions flying out of control. Hogan asks, ‘what’s that direction’? Burchalter say, ‘my house, for one thing’. Then the rocket crashes down and explodes.

Leon Askin (1907-2005) was an awesome addition to the show. He makes me crack up and laugh as him and Klink don't have any love lost between them. I believe Leon lost a lot of family in the Holocaust as John Banner did.

Werner Klemperer was was quite specific to the writers about how he intended to play Klink. He would not do the part unless Klink always came off as bumbling and incompetent. He did not want viewers to ever sympathize with Klink.

They put the pegs down but they never put the logs to slide down the pegs. The logs are larger than the pigs about three times and then they just slide down holes that are hand drilled through it or chiseled. Then it have a solid wall that goes to the full height of those pegs there.

One thing I always wondered about watching this series and any other show depicting POW's was this; These guys would have been captured wearing the clothes they stood in, so how could they continue to wear one uniform everyday for years on end? The German's certainally were not going be able to reissue them clothing if and when it wore out. Wool uniforms don't clean easily, and if you did take it off to wash are you going to walk the camp naked? Love to hear from any "Vets"as to how they coped. Tx.
