I can not wait for the NFL draft. Ben helping on draft picks instead of Flus might do miracles for this team. Time will tell.

Flus was a few better decisions away from being a good coach. Our defense was awesome with him
@Ocelotmaniac6 күн бұрын
@@rhdtv2002I understand that his defense had great stats but he is such an overrated coach and 2022 proved everything to me. Guy played scared football, told his OC to not put the ball in harms way and the OC was not good to begin with. The QB is blamed for the malfunction of the offense and the team. The defense choked in pretty much every single crucial moment. At a certain point, it becomes the coaches fault when there is a pattern of bad execution. Fields didn’t do enough to prove he was the guy for sure but even when he played a good game, the defense choked. I don’t care that the roster was stripped down. Fields had to deal with that on the field and took accountability for his faults and for faults that were not his own. The biggest issue I had was that Eberflus never ever accountability even when it was obvious it was his fault. As the HC, you have to do the same thing as the QB. Take Accountability. Then when he tried to do that towards the end of his time here, it was forced and it was obvious that was the case. Dude was garbage and was never a “great” DC.

What Eberflus pushed on Justin Fields was the 200 concept. Meaning that every game, Fields was aiming for 2 TDs [either running or passing] - 0 turnovers - 0 sacks. Hope that helps. Great podcast, gents!

Jahns: They actually did need to interview all those candidates. Imagine if they had to play the waiting game until after the Super Bowl for Ben Johnson. In the meantime, other teams could have hired the Bears #2,3,4 top candidates. in that scenario, what if another team held out for Ben and he chose to go there over the Bears? Those interviews were for worst case scenario as well as just intel on guys and their potential staffs and connections and such too. I also understand that through "back channels" that Ben's people could have told the Bears that he wanted/would take the job, but Poles and company also saw Ben back out on Washington last year. Glad it ended up how it played out, but kudos on the Bears for actually being prepared for the worst case scenario in the hire.

Loved hearing BJ bringing up Andrew Billings and how his absence was more than noteworthy. He passed the ball-knower Turing test without hesitation. Maybe this is the one that works for a change...
@spaceghost89955 күн бұрын
Billings has been on SEVEN different teams. He wouldn't even make most rosters. His absence SHOULDN'T just wreck an entire defense! If he's THAT vital then you're building it wrong. It's was a house built on sand. 🫤

I think taking a wait and see approach with the Bears is completely fair...on the field, I'm doing the same myself. I do give them some kudos for actually not biffing the process/communication part though, because they've screwed that up countless times. How many times have we seen them coming out of press conferences looking like tone deaf clowns or awkward and unprepared? At least for this week, it's been a refreshing change from that perspective.

I disagree when the fishman compares Nagy to Ben Johnson. Nagy said from Jump Street that the bears were gonna run the Andy Reid offense. Ben Johnson said he's not running the same as Detroit. He's running it to the personnel strengthen. It's actually the exact opposite. So refreshing

What everybody keeps forgetting is Johnson has NEVER ran a football team at any level. He was a position coach until he was promoted to play caller then OC a couple years ago. This has great potential to blow up in the Bears faces.Every season about one quarter to one fifth of the teams fire their coaches. Coaches that just a couple years earlier, were considered a hot young coordinator or guru. The top job of head coach isn't in the same universe as position coaches or even coordinators. They hired a CEO of football operations and the road is littered with football geniuses that failed miserably when handed that job.

John’s I think the only reason why they had all those people is because they probably thought Detroit was gonna be playing in the Super Bowl so they had to waste some time doing something and they probably just wanted to pick other peoples brains. I think the whole time they just didn’t know if he was gonna be available that fast.

This franchise is the beginning of the NFL! Hales built it on tough hard nosed defense. There is no way you win close games without making a stop on defense to get the ball back to the offense. The Bears have been soft ever since Lovie Smith left! It’s not because Lovie left its because of the coach’s the Bears have hired ever since he was let go. I want our toughness back. The reason offenses look clunky is because 95% of the time the quarterback is out of rhythm. So Ben has to get Caleb on time with his decision making.

Wrong! Nothing was revealed. The media session is not part of the game in any stretch of the term football. Completely unnecessary and unimportant. And learn that coaches can only be evaluated in game conditions. When you talk about victories for coaches in a press conference, you are totally misrepresenting the situation. You guys are the first to lead the witch hunt when things don't go according to your unreasonable expectations (like the '24 season). How about not being too judgmental during the season when BJ makes a mistake and avoid these false expectation before the season even starts. I do not like the direction this show went this way. You are still talking in negatives and the negative stuff is behind us now.
@spaceghost89955 күн бұрын
No it isn't. You can say that when and if the Bears START WINNING .
@jimsnyder63105 күн бұрын
@@spaceghost8995 Yes, wins are everything and we have to be patient for those to manifest, but negativity can stop right now. It is a choice to be optimistic or pessimistic. These idiots say that they are positive, but then start bashing the Bears because of the past. Make up your mind, guys. Are you with us or against us? Are you focusing on subscriptions or football? Is there some reason you cannot move on from horrible years and start fresh? My whole angle comes from that. They choose to be negative to appease the negativity on the internet. They lost me after the Washington game. It was obvious what they want. They want to affect the team. They are egomaniacs and need to feel important. But that was why the Bears had problems to begin with. It was always the outside noise.
