something that took me way longer than I care to mention to figure out is any of the rectangular boxes you move to jump higher can be leviosa'ed to greatly increase jump height while it is hovering. You can also cast the stop moving yellow spell while you are moving it to freeze it in place to jump across gaps.

I actually had to search for that solution because it's not quite clear that Levioso is the spell to be used to hold crates in the air to allow you to climb up over wall. You want to think that W. Leviosa would be needed to just move it into place, but no, you have to cast Levioso on it to levitate it even higher.

Arresto Momentum also works like Glacius if you want to use Petrificus Totalus. You can even use them on the last two enemies and quickly finish them one by one with Petrificus Totalus 🙂

On PS5 I set all spells as clockwise combos. Wanted to make use of everything available. It was garbage dude. I came from playing Forspoken, which had phenomenal combat and spell menus to this clunky 4 menu system that I had to constantly pause and swap out spells as I needed them. Felt like shit. No matter how I arranged them, I always needed to change them constantly between fights.

The combo I’ve been using most: Flipendo (with curse upgrade) > Confringo > Glacius > Diffindo. Most enemies don’t get back up from that. It’s also pretty decent damage on Trolls too. ALSO remember to upgrade Gear Traits with Level III ones if you can, completely turns spells like Diffindo into an annihilator lol.

For the max range damage combo, I recommend switching levioso for flippendo when you get it. Flippendo has a very short cool down, and is single target like this combo aims for. Let's you save levioso for CCing a large group of enemies with the upgrade.

@@ADarklore I would say its not worth much, just finished a dark arts playthrough and the only real value in curses are the Avarda kedvra combo and maybe the heal on kill. The damage boost isn't noticeable. Better to invest elsewhere I would say.

diffendo is the BEST spell in the game when paired with glacio. i recommend diffendo, glacio, bombarda and the pull spell (i can’t remember the name) for those who dabble in the dark arts i recommend all three unforgivables and Expelliarmus with the curse talents maxed out

Imperio to take aggro and start swinging at the rest of the group, find another enemy and curse them with cursio, then disarm any ranged enemies with expelliarmus then boom avara kedavra to kill the entire group instantly.

My absolute top-favourite spell combo is 1. Pull enemies towards you with Accio, 2. Slam them on the ground with Descendo and 3. Blast them away with Bombarda Almost feels more lethal than Avada Kedavra 🤣

2 ways to make troll fights easier. During their blockable attacks you can counter. If they slam with both hands use glacio followed by flipendo to throw their club back at them. If they throw a boulder, don’t use stupefy. Just block and you can throw the boulder back then causing them to fall giving you time to rush and use your combos

Repulso/Accio/Incendio/Confringo is a great setup for animals battles plus inferis. They all lunge at you, dont have shields requiring yellow spells and you also have two handy puzzle solving spells youll often use in spiders and inferis caves (on top of web burning). You could do that. Or you could just use the Unforgivable gear traits, which are busted since they boost all damage all the time, rather than just on cursed enemies. Confringo will one-shot pretty much everything short of a boss. At level 40 that is.

I'm on pc and have my spell sets binded to buttons on my g502, so quick and easy to switch. Have all the spell sets in order by spell color except the 1st one 1st: 3 curses with incendio 2nd: All yellow 3rd: All purple 4th: All red Find myself using the other spells in situational times and don't mind switching them out when need be

I did this as well and it’s by far the best way to fight. I have the curse build that makes everything do 3x damage and curse effect on flippendo, Arrestó momento and expelliarmus. This makes it possible to 2 shot almost any enemy while breaking their shield by opening with one of those 3 and then using descendo. Also just being able to utilize all your spells makes it possible to avoid waiting on cool downs even without focus potions.

If the feat was to “bury the spiders head in the ground” you have to use descendo when it raises its front legs up, works on the matriachs for their unlockable attack and for the acromantula you have to do it after it raises it front right legs, the front left, after it will raise all 4 front (that's when you use descendo

Hey just a thought I watch a video you did about 2 or so days ago about potting tables Jor said too get 1 table with 5 small pots well if you spend 6,000 you can get the table with 2 large pots on it and 1 medium table with 3 pots on it you can grow everything in the 2 tables and if you buy the T shaped potting station and set up 2 next with a single potion table in between the 2 t shaped potion stations you can do all 7 potions at once if you set up 2 large potting tables with 2 pots on them up in the room with 2 tables with 3 medium pots on them and put this set up in the bigger part of the room you are set I have 2 manure refineries on one side and 2 material refineries on the other side and then I have 2 hopping pots on each side of potions my set up you start from one side of the room and by the time you get too the other side of the room you will have everything

The Diffindo + Glacius combo can be extended by a curse. Curse (e.g. via Expelliarmus) + Glacius + Diffindo on a helpless target (floating or e.g. a troll that is bouldered or ran into a wall or tree), increases the damage again massively. By at least another 100% ontop of the 150% increase from using glacius, these are estimates, because I do not remember the numbers. But I was only testing on trolls. With concentration in them, I could two-shot to three-shot them with expelliarmus (curse)+glacius+diffindo, after being rendered "helpless". I did not try it on an incendio combo yet, but if the target is e.g. a goblin with a weapon, you could use the weapon + ancient magic throw instead of diffindo for about the same damage without sending diffindo on cooldown; with the other two having a shorter cooldown.

As someone who just finished a dark arts focused playthrough, the curse marks kinda suck, the damage increase is barely noticeable. The best part about it is the Avarda kadavra combo to wipe a encounter, but that can be achieved with just 2 talents (crucio and Avarda mastery). But still this build has problems, that being set up and cool downs. Avarda has a huge cool down meaning you want to use it when the situation gets tough, but to pull off the combo you need some breathing room to attack the crucio target. So either you can pull off the combo well because you were already winning or you take tons of damage and mess it up due to you already losing. Sorry about the text wall, just needed to say this somewhere, I committed to the dark arts and feel I didn't get my money's worth.

Personally my favourite combo has been Expelliarmus (with curse unlock), followed by Confringo, then Glacius, and finally Diffindo as the damage output from that combo is insane. Downside however you are extremely vulnerable against enemies that have a purple Protego shield if you are only sticking with using a 4 move slots spell casting for atking, but switching to another slot isn’t that slow to do as long you get the hang of it (and honestly you might be accidentally triggering your spell slots to switch more often than you initially doing so, so in that sense it’s quite fast to do so anyway 😂😂😂) so if you do face a enemy with a purple Protego shield then just quickly switch to set of spells that have a purple register spell on it, use it, and then quickly switch back in using the 4 spells I mentioned earlier

@@EmptyPeace you’re talking about Crucio right the torture curse, one of the 3 unforgivable curse (it’s called dark arts for a reason after all). It’s definitely good but like mentioned all of the 3 unforgivable curses do have a slow cool down time (and personally I prefer faster cool down times) and are more later game spells (though if you want to use them even earlier what you can do if your brought the deluxe edition or brought the dark arts pack separately very early on you get access to the dark arts arenas so you can go out and find them and the 3 unforgivable curses are forced onto you once you enter). Plus it’s clearly a more dark/evil wizard/witch build which for my character which is a justiciable sinner character (which if you don’t know is technically a good guy character that isn’t afraid to do sinful acts for the sake of the good) this type of build will mostly only be used by me as a back up set when I believe is right to be sinful on evil enemies. It’s quite clear you are definitely going for a evil/dark witch/wizard here. Now for Imperio which is the unforgivable curse that controls peoples minds, aka the one you called useless all I can say is you’re completely wrong about that. How you should be using this spell is by controlling your most dangerous enemy in the group of enemies you are facing since even the enemy NPCs have a hard time against that enemy and while that powerful enemy is under your control you can take on the small fries and once you took all of them out you can then give your full attention on that power enemy and take them out (granted Imperio does wear off so if you haven’t got rid all of the smalls fries yet then just recast the spell back on that enemy and continue until all enemy NPCs are wiped out). Side note if your enemy is a troll use Imperio against it. Finally all 3 unforgivable curses bypasses the Protego shields meaning, Crucio (the torture curse), Imperio (the mind control curse), & finally Avada Kedavra (the killing curse) can all bypass the shields

If you have all 3 unforgivable spells with a basic build for curses the games literally on easy mode. I’m considering putting the game on the hardest difficulty because no matter how many enemies I face it doesn’t cost much to curse the entire room and kill everyone with Avada Kedavra in a split second. If there’s more? With the trait unforgivable 3 on all your armor pieces you 2-3 shot every enemy you curse lol. I think the funniest thing is that imperio works on trolls and you can basically take out a camp just by casting it on a troll and watch from afar as the troll does all the work. Those 3 curses own the game

I simply switched to flippendo, expeliarmus and aresto momento. This deals with any shield types. The 4th is just whatever I'm in the mood for but usually diffindo. Now this works when u have t3 traits that increase curse damage along with talents to turn those 3 spells into curses (I don't use unforgivable spells but I don't mind curses lol). I've dropped Glacius completely since then. Anything that has a weapon gets it throw back at em with expeliarmus and ancient magic throw (which the damage will be over the roof). Everything else is flippendo into 2-3 basic casts. Or flippendo into diffindo. Was able to 1 shot many bosses simply by using any of the 3 first skill into ancient magic.

I usually run accio, discendo,glacius & diffindo So basically 3 hits cast accio, 3 hits i cast discendo followed by glacius & finish it off with diffindo

I unlocked the talent for transformation...you can basically get a two for one kill if you have the trait for clothing

My first spell wheel tends to have accio, levioso, depulso and incendio. I feel like you use them a lot in and out of combat. I like the way you can pull in multiple enemies, cast incendio then fling them all away lol

Question for anyone playing the game currently: I don’t have the game yet I only have the Xbox One Console not the series x/s…Is this game too easy in combat?It looks like it’s pretty simple in terms of killing enemies in the game but didn’t know if people found it too easy or is there a difficulty setting in the beginning?

The game has a hard difficulty. It isn't frustratingly hard, but it requires to at least know how dodge certain attacks, block others attacks and how to get the most out of your spells.

@Bob Saget It's not hard, it's mostly challenging on a resource management + combat awareness + reaction time. You can do some pretty sexy combos and pull off some very cinematic moments, but it does require you to mind your surroundings. Enemies love to somehow end up behind you and try to noobcheck your protego skills (especially spiders)
