I hate to offend anyone who likes Harry Potter but I really got tired of the movies because of the story and characters. However I will say this definitely looks like the first RPG game that might impress me. I’m still debating whether or not I should get it but I will say that it looks amazing.

@@rabiyaashraf950 I only read the last two books, but this is basically why I don’t like Harry Potter in general: Hagrid is a complete idiot. He almost got Harry and Ron killed when he told them to follow the spiders. You would think that a game keeper would understand wildlife better. In the book Hagrid actually gets himself captured because he stupidly tried to protect the spiders from the students before they delivered him to Voldemort. Harry is a complete idiot who can’t get anything done without so much help. The only reasons he survived his fight with the basilisk were because it was blinded by a phoenix, and he miraculously got the sword. Not to mention the fact that he never learns a single spell in the first year of Hogwarts but somehow manages to get promoted to second-year anyways. Ron is a complete jerk who constantly bullies, Harry and Hermione, whenever he gets angry and jealous. Dumbledore actually murdered his own sister to get the deathly hallows. Malfoy is a complete, and pathetic coward who spends most of the story bullying Harry, Hermione, and Ron, and when he finally has the chance to do some good, he just runs away. Hermione is extremely annoying, and answered every question with a paragraph amount of sentences to show off her intellect. Jinny is extremely boring and the only reason she existed was so that the protagonist could have a girlfriend. The story is full of so many plot holes. In the order of the Phoenix, Hermione and Ron snitch on Umbridge but only tell McGonagle. If they told Dumbledore instead, she would actually get fired. Harry told everyone that Voldemort killed Cedric, even though it was actually worm tail. Voldemort didn’t even have a wand at the time. In the first movie three Hogwarts teachers are sent to defeat a troll, even though he just gets defeated by Ron. If he’s that weak, why did he need three teachers to get sent after him? I could go on, but would be here for hours.

Totally agree. I hope you can pick & choose from friends and creatures to join you both in "downtime" (just roaming around) but also in actual missions/tasks. One mission having a Ravenclaw by your side, the next you might choose a Slytherin and a Unicorn 🤷‍♂️😊

Yeah I'm definitely going to get this when it comes out. They've been working on this game for years, I'm excited for it. I was so amazed that they put in the kitchen which ways in the book but not in the movies so it's is it going to be cool walking around to that plus the whole entire world. I'm either going to be in house Hufflepuff or Gryffindor because those are the only two houses I get whenever I do the test no matter what I put down.

My goooodddd, I've been playing so much all of the HP games on PC, rewatching movies and read all the books when I was a kid and freaking loved every single piece of all of that! It's about damn time someone finally makes a very in-depth game about this universe where you can explore so much stuff and really immerse yourself in that world! The only thing is left to hope - is that they really take their time making and finishing this game properly, seing as many big titles have been failing recently mostly due to being rushed. This is also finally a perfect reason for me to start upgrading my PC for this masterpiece :D

This looks fantastic !!! As you say this will be the ultimate RPG experience. Never was there a game not even Skyrim, in wich there was so much to do beyond just going around and fighting enemies. There's so much to do in this game it's almost overwhelming. I always loved magic, and though i was already anadult when harry Potter came out (i'm 43 now) the love for magic never left me. This is the kind of game i've been waiting for for a long time and i'm going to enjoy every minute of this. See you folks at school !

I’m really excited about this game. I hope it’s good and not a let down. I’ve already heard that they confirmed no micro transactions, which is really good! Also it’s single player, which I’m always down for. Can’t wait to play this game. I remember playing The Chamber of Secrets game on PS2 when I was younger. It was always a blast. I can't believe it was so long ago! I remember doing a book review in my English class, people hadn't heard of it before and people thought it was weird 😂. One thing I'm wondering about is how the selection of the houses will work. Many potter-heads already have a preferred house.. so if they give the selected house buffs towards a preferred play style that might piss some people off. For instance, let's just say as an example you want to be more of a potions player, and then you get to the sorting hat and it's like 'hey, if you want a significant buff with potions, pick slytherin", I can imagine some people wouldn't like that if they don't like Slytherin and now they feel they've been boxed in to pick a certain house. I haven't followed much of the news on this game asides from this state of play so if anyone knows if they've already answered that.. lemme know.

I think the reason behind you starting as a year 5 is so the years can be long enough to leave time for immersion and side activities without forcing you to be stuck as a year 1-3 student who is unable to do much combat or exciting things for the first 50 or so hours (I don't exactly know how long the years are/ if you can even move up them).

I've been looking at a lot of people's reactions to this and so far yours was the closest to my own 🤗 This world was real to me as a kid. So embarrassing. All the adults were freaking out trying to keep kids from reading these books, and that naturally made me think this book was based on reality and our parents didn't want us to know. Combined with the fact that that's exactly how the world is laid out in the books, and my little 11-12 year old self started to believe there was this whole other world of magic and friends and adventure and purpose. I'm 31 now, still waiting on my letter and hoping to meet my Hermione but this is pretty good too 😎
