Surely shader caches are not built yet, but there's something else. The "performance" of low and high is almost identical, something else is bogging down performance and causing huge stutters (asset loading maybe?)

Its the fps limiter ingame wich is corrupt. Try uncapped in game en trough steamdeck force it to i dont know, 40fps?

I think that Valve is creating a precedent with the games that are verified, many customers who have SD will prefer to buy the games for Steam to be able to play them also portable, but many do not work as they should and are set as verified, meaning from the beginning to the end of the game to go without problems. I think this is being overlooked in order to increase game sales, otherwise I would have bought the game on PS5 and I knew it would work perfectly, but I preferred to be able to play on 2 platforms on PC, but it seems that only one works well.

The big problem with performance in this game is that it uses DENUVO. No tweaks are going to get around it, and optimization really isn't going to fix it. They just need to remove the stupid DRM

Nonsense, even without Denuvo the Steam Deck just does not have the legs to runs newer games very well. Let's face it it's a great device to play games older and up to 2020 ish. All the newer games are just battering this device, and it's getting worse fast. The Series S is in the exact same boat right now.

One I saw and have good experience with is turn camera acceleration all the way down and camera sensitivity all the way up

My game runs pretty well at 40fps on medium and high settings. I set my UMA buffer to 1Gig

Please everyone keep in mind that where playing like a beta version of the game a day one patch is most likely gonna happen when it actually releases this happens a lot with early access type of games

how are so many people on the Steam Deck subreddit saying it runs well... this doesn't qualify as playable on the Deck in my opinion

I think after the Patch it should run stable. Set the graphics lower and it runs pretty good

Something else I have heard is that it should run better with 1gb VRAM (Like Red Dead Redemption 2) This is something else you could try (1GB VRAM is Standard - so If you don't changed it in BIOS you don't have to do anything) My Game is currently downloading - so I can't try it 😀 If someone tried it would be great if you leave a comment If it worked well

This game has a pretty bad memory leak problem let's hope they fix it on the actual release

Hopefully they address it for release. It seemed to drop when entering new areas and then stabilize within a few seconds. It seemed to be loading assets of some kind.

If I had to guess, I would say, lower your fsr to balance or performance

It would probably help with the average performance but I think the stutters are some kind of asset loading or caching. I also don't love FSR and any lower setting blurs the picture more than I can really stand.

Try using proton experimental Thats what im currently using

Odd. It ran great on PC as long as I had RTX disabled. 10700k, 3080, 32 gb ram.

I'll try that next time. I'm never really reaching 60 so I didn't think it would make a difference.
