The thing is - anarchism is widely misunderstood (due to purposeful misinformation) as being "no rules". All it really means is community equality. No ruling class, no systems of oppression, direct democracy on local matters, that sort of thing. And that notion scares who? The ruling classes. Who also control what is widely known - because they know if more people understood this concept they'd be behind it.

A good pointer, instead of going down the focus tree, just do the first one that gets you republican/communist/anarchist Spain, then dont do focuses at all until civil war, which will allow you to amass pp fairly quickly. Eventually when the nationalists get the entire support of the north, use your pp to win over garis. that will divide their entire army, thus making it avaiable for you to encricle them at the very start, alowing you to crush the fascists early.

The right does not seem to have this issue on the same level leftists have since rightists often just swallow what some other right-winged person tells them while leftists questions things far more.

I’m having trouble with two runs. The bourbon France run (where you annex Spain) is difficult because you get no wargoals from the focus tree so you can’t apply the Napoleon strategy, and by the time Germany attacks me they’re far too strong. I also have trouble building up enough on the Portuguese fifth empire run to really do anything at all, let alone conquer China and Brazil like the focus tree gives you wargoals for. Could you do guides for these in the future? Thanks

Thanks for the video! When my anarchist and carlists rose up, I didn't have as much land as you did and the republicans/nationalists shared a large boarder. They practically killed themselves while I killed the carlists, and I won by march 25th.

Just a tip,if you (republican Spain)lose the two northern states, the other Spain will be able to do the "fuse the parties" focus and and there won't be the carles uprising that weakens the fascists a lot.

the Anarchist Path in Spain is historically impossible without taking out Salazar in Portugal first. As long Salazar was in charge in Portugal, it's impossible for the Anarchists in Spain to defeat Franco because Estado Novo Portugal shipped supplied, gear and weapons up the Tagus River for Spain's Nationalist faction

You have more than enough PP, without any problems I can contest the garrisons that I split the Nationalists in 3 completely seperate parts, you have 250 PP just from focuses, I beat the Nationalists to capitulation before anarchist uprising, then they spawn which I play as and they control 85% of Spain after they spawn :D

In my second attempt (and I'm no expert at this game) I won the civil war by mid Jan 1939. Pretty happy with that. Now to learn how the hell to use the navy after taking Portugal...

Thanks for the guide. Best bit was explaining why delaying the civil war is good and how the different choices of influencing areas/ speeches/ arrests etc works for the war. How do you maximise the cores you get after the war/ speeding up re coring it all after? Waiting for compliance to build up is a bitch

Waiting for compliance is pretty much the only way. Get a good suppresion template and set favourable occupation laws.

Great guide, thanks. I have trouble clearing pockets. 1 division ties up several for months. I can't clear the nationalists fast enough to save Navare and prepare for crackdown. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I got the disband focus and have the 12 fresh regulars but can't roll them up as fast as you do.

I'm getting exactly the same issues here too. The nationalists just have soooo much organisation that tiny little encircled divisions takes ages to crush, if at all, tying up loads of divisions. Any ideas @bitt3rsteel?

You may need to react to what the AI opponent does. Some of his decisions lock you out of using some of yours and vice versa. The most important part is to never allow time to pass without you using a decision tonextend the timer, even if it isnt the optimal one

i seem to suck massively at this because other than the few encirclements at the beginning and a few lucky reactions to breakthroughs i seem to not be able to create the breakthroughs necessary for encirclements. and for some reason the enemy divisions feel tanky af. like "5v1 encircled and still losing" tanky. am i missing something ?

So, uh, it's January 1937. I did everything exact, but a bit better. The Nationalists only received Sevilla in the south and I received no resistance. I also received a few more troops than what you appeared to get (my north is more populated with troops, so I'm holding both provinces with no issues). There's a problem. I'm only on the "Arm the People" NF and I got a long way to go before I start the anarchist uprising. Nationalist Spain could be defeated in a month or two, since I can possibly corner them in Galicia. Would it be possible/better to win the Civil War against the Nationalists now and then start the Anarchist Uprising later or do you recommend keeping the Nationalists alive?

Try and see ifbthe AI does stupid things, like reshuffling it's front lines or leave tiles unoccupied. Focus hard on small encirclements and pinning troops down sonthey cant move to plig holes, even if your soldiers wont win those fights. They just need to slow the enemy while you cut them off Good luck!

In no step back this seems nigh impossible. My shitty troops can’t close and kill pockets to save their lives, with the result that when anarchism fires the nationalists have tons of troops and start chewing away my hard fought gains :( Tbh in the current run somehow I ended up without finishing disband the army despite literally always having some delay decision running. Just feels like in this guide it’s a cakewalk but it really isn’t.

Sad times. The SCW has been changed a few times since I made the video, so it's no longer a good guide I'm afraid. The general idea is still to spam the equipment decision and weaken the nationalists without capitulating them. And to get the focus timings right. I might revisit this later. Sorry to disappoint :(
