For anyone having problems with the border conflift, this is what worker for me: First 100 PP for the army offense expert --> Next 100 PP for the army regrouping expert. You should get enough army XP to make 7/2 division with support atillery. I won my conflicts with this method. If you rush for border conflict like in the video you will go in with a equipment deficit, I still won but if you want to play it safe get the resarch slot first. I'm a noob in this game so maybe I just had insane luck but I hope this help some folks out there EDIT: Had to do a rerun but changed a few things, if you take your time and get the resarch slot first your troops will almost be at full strength and you just curb stomp everyone. Don't forget to pick up trains and get radio. You can also delete the other 3 division because they are pretty useless for the most part and you need the weapons early.

For extra bite in border conflicts (not that you need it here), you can add planning bonus by making a front line with battle order. Interesting take on the battlecry achievement. I thought myself you also need to be at war with Manchuko for the pandamonium achievement, but I think you did it with only the regular china's from the united front? Great video, and lovely countryballs!

Interesting choices. I can see why you'd go for Guangxi, but why Romania? It's quite strong compared to, say Yugoslavia, but: Why not Bulgaria for example? Also, I am guessing based on your style you're likely to be someone who enjoys playing as Estonia or Lithuania in NSB

Great video. First time I tried the challenge I got Panda-monium and the million men thing but then during the peace conference I stupidly forgot about the thing strip of islands to the east of Japan. I was like 'where are all these Japanese soldiers coming from'. Then it took another 10 plays to get the achievement because stupid things like Italy would capitulate the Dominion of India and start attacking me from the west, or the Dominion of India would take random parts of the other warlords. Got the achievement in the end though.

All troops involved in a border conflict will be put in a separate, AI Controller army with a Random General you have. All you can Controll is what Divisions, where and when

To achieve "BFFs" simply declare war on Germany or Italy or an Axis member, then UK invite you in the Allies. Or, much more difficoult to do, declare on the Allies, join Axis and get an high warscore so you can puppet UK (here the probelm is getting an high contribution, but it is absolutely doable)

just got done with my Republic of China game (was going for their achievements) and I can confirm Sun Tzu Reborn took for freaking ever. Japan, Comintern, and Axis had been defeated and my best general was only barely level 8 so I had to then declare on the allies and even then it took quite a bit. Ended in 1951.

I did mostly everything with border clashes with all the Chinese factions. I joined the war with Japan. After the peace deal, I put a 100 plus divisions 7/2 template to defend the Japanese homeland. Leave the faction with Japan. I had to restart a few times. It will triggered a war with Japan or you will justify a war with Japan. Once in a war with Japan. I took most the land and rushed to Tokyo. I get a peace deal and puppetted everyone. I was done around 1942 with Battlecry and the warlord achievements

With the new peace conference system it’s not so bad with war score. But if you want to pick a fight with Japan after being their ally, take control of all port provinces to cut off their central China assets. Let them move through your territory, hopefully set up front lines in these cut off territories. Have a front line read to deal with them, and another front line to take on the home islands. Eliminate the cut off armies and rush in before new recruits can be created and utilised

Btw for anyone doing this run, theres a bug with the warlords where even after you switch to the nationalist focus tree doing the examination yuan focus does not remove ineffecient bureaucracy as it is supposed to. This isnt a big deal because manpower isnt a major issue as china but it did annoy me in my battlecry run.

5 tries and one afternoon shot to hell and I am ready to walk away from this game. Played for some time now and chasing these achievements are a prelude to migraines. The fact that someone sat in a room full of people and got them all to agree that this border mechanic was a great idea, let alone restricting achievements to ironman, just leads me to believe that these devs should never be allowed to develop another game. This was not fun.. hell it was not even close to being fun. I do not hold you at fault I am just venting. Two times the border mechanic just failed outright. Once I had 7-2s the second time I had close to a 14-4. One time the border mechanic flipped to another district on the other side of the map. I followed what you prescribed almost to the letter in most cases. I just could not even come close to your results. Again.. not on you. I enjoyed your video and it convinced me to give this a try.

I found that running 20 width's is best for border conflicts. There is some serious buginess when using 40. Reserves not arriving, random retreats, all 6 divisions not arriving to the conflict despite being already on the province and in reserves.
