Since they are on sale everywhere I also picked a pair up... I find them waaaay too firm, they feel a littlebit like the gel kayano 30, who is also on the firmer end. They are cushioned yes, definitely, but on the firmer end. Thats great for walking and when you have to stand a lot. But especialyl for recovery runs or easy long runs, for my taste, waaay too firm. So I wear them for casual wear... and there they work like a charme. Nontheless a great video as always

I have both the hoka bondi 8 and NB more v4. And i love them both for easy runs and recovery runs. I tend to run faster on Hoka Bondi 8 due to its firmer ride and its a touch springy. As a heavier, slower runner, trying to come back from injury, I was recommended the Bondi by a podiatrist. Unfortunately I've not had a good time with them to date. I find that although they have plenty of squish, I don't get any spring in return, and just get bogged down in the cushion, having to work harder to push off with each step. There also seems to be a hard piece under each arch, which I find can dig in a little bit. They are bearable on a treadmill, but on hard surfaces like concrete or tiles, I'm going to have to try something else, as they just make every run an unpleasant slog. It's my first time trying Hoka, and it leaves me wondering if other models have the similar issues for heavier folk like me?

Been a couple months so maybe you've had other suggestions by now, but Saucony Triumph 20 sounds like it'd be perfect for you. Just reference here regarding some of comments about going up a size because of Hoka's narrow fit, Hoka's also come in Regular (D), Wide (EE), X-Wide (EEEE) So you can't go wrong finding the right size, I'm sure some with very narrow feet appreciate the snug fitting regular, I always get the 2E size, this is from a casual perspective, not a runner, loved seeing my new Bondi 8's being modelled in this video 🙂

@@meezoo2 I currently ordered the new balance fresh foam more v3 and v4. V3 is very comfy but in comparison the v4 adds another whole level of cushiony cloud-walking goodness. I am looking at this video to decide whether I should order the bondi 8 because many people swear that the bondi 8 is currently the best max cushion shoe just to make sure which one I like better, hoka or new balance. But I tried the clifton in the store and it felt totally stiff and not comfy at all when I came there with only the new balance fresh foam 1080 v12 feeling in my head that I tried another day in another store which in itself is also a great choice of shoe which I might buy as a daily walker. First and foremost though I am currently looking for a max cushion shoe for home workouts with lots of jumping movements like dance cardio, step aerobic and stuff. I have the feeling my mind is set on keeping the FF more v4 in the neon red color (looks amazing!) and that I can skip trying out the bondi 8. The only thing I prefer about the ff v3 is that (on women's feet) they look smaller and more narrow (given that in running shoes you have to add a size to your normal size anyway which makes it a 42.5 for me!), a little bit neater for extended outside walks now and then whereas with the v4 it looks a bit as if I have Donald Duck feet. The base is wide and the foam spreads out to the sides, that's why. But for my first and foremost purpose of finding a max cushion shoe to protect my knees and feet while doing aerobics I don't think I will find a more comfy shoe than the NB ff more v4. They are like little trampolines beneath your soles. Maybe kofuzi can add his opinion on my findings??

6 was great, re-release of the B sucked, Bondi 7 was somehow just dead.

Felt the same, dead and clunky.

I have the 7s that i got as like my second ever pair of dedicated running shoes and after a few months I got annoyed with them, too heavy and clumsy, now they are just my daily walking around/work shoe

On a slow motion it looks like a midsole barely compresses. If it is the same kind of foam and same super hyper cushion soft feeling as in Kofuzi's beloved NB More V3, I would say no, thank you. I'm not going to believe you again and make same mistake anymore buying super firm painful bulky bricks.

Pretty different experiences underfoot. Sorry the last ones didn’t work out for you.

Hoka wide shoes are like other shoes in normal width. The midsole is 20 years old technology.. Not for running any more. Move on...

I think the shoe is too high and therefor looks ugly.
@king_has_no_clothskul86352 жыл бұрын
you go by looks or the functionality? STILL they look awesome when you wear and start running! THEY STAND OUT! HOKA SIMPLY THE BEST FOR CUSHIONED SHOES! AND I DONT EVEN WEAR ONE.
@marcel14632 жыл бұрын
@@king_has_no_clothskul8635 'Of course most people go for the looks. Why do you think Nike is able to sell so many shoes from the 90's? Because they made some now iconic designs. I know the Air Max 97 have a dated technology compared to the Hoka, but the full lengh Air unit just looks so good that they can still sell a over 20 year old shoe model for 179€.

@@marcel1463 shoes are great. dont argue unless you have tried them. normally there is 500 miles on them and normal people wear them for a year and two. works out to 50 cents per mile( that is lot of walking OR running, if you are not in to sports). you will need more than a year to wear them out! the wear and tear is real for these elite athletes. it is not just shoes he or she has to spend on apparel and timers and on top of it diet. Not to mention they have to go elsewhere to practice( if you are a track racer!). That is a fair price! you get what you pay for. ------------ shoes are spoiled for choices. you can go as low as you want 25 bucks or free on outlets. shoes all the way to 250 to 300 bucks! nobody is forcing you to buy! ------------- NIKE HAS MADE RESEARCH AND IT HAS PLENTY OF TOP NOTCH COMPETITION FROM ADIDAS AND CO. AND IF YOU ARE NOT GOOD PEOPLE WONT BUY. HYPE CAN ONLY WORK SO MUCH. PUMA ESPECIALLY HAD MORE STYLE AND ADIDAS UP THERE TOO( GERMANS ARE DAMN GOOD AS WELL) -------------- IT IS NOT JUST RACERS. OTHER SPORTS PLAYERS ALSO CONSUME A LOT( GAMES AND THEY ARE COUNTLESS). --------------- TENNIS GUYS USE LOT OF SHOES AS WEAR AND TEAR ON HARD SURFACE IS HEAVY! OF COURSE THEY NEED TO BE SPONSORED. ------------------- FOR AMATEURS YOU CHOOSE WISELY! -------------------- NORMALLY BEST TIME TO BUY IS WHEN NEW VERSION COMES PREVIOUS VERSION ARE GIVEN AWAY AT HUGE DISCOUNT. -------------------- BUT HOKA ARE IN HUGE DEMAND AS IT OFFERS MAX CUSHION. SO PEOPLE WHO WALK ALL THE TIME ON ASPHALT AND HAVE KNEE ISSUE/ARTHRITIS LOVE MAX CUSHION. BUT NOW ALL OFFER MAX CUSHION SHOES NOT JUST HOKA'S! -------------------- BUY ANY LOCAL CHEAP SHOES THEY HAVE MAX CUSHIONS. --------------------

I still don't understand how the industry went from barefoot to max cushion so quickly. I really don't think our bodies were designed for squishy shoes.
@username607372 жыл бұрын
It's easy to get injured running in barefoot style shoes, especially on pavement.
@nolinchitnis2 жыл бұрын
The cushions are getting more and more unrealistic and ridiculous. Every brand is trying to have the tallest stack. Not a good move. Someday this hype and stress on stack height will end by which time these brands would have sold enough useless shoes.

Have you even tried this shoe? Or is your rant purely hypothetical?

YO. HOKA ARE PIONEERS IN CUSHION SHOES. IN FACT THEY CAME UP WITH THAT IDEA: MAX COMFORT( I READ ABOUT THEM. FRENCH+CALIFORNIA COMBO). THEY ARE NOT ABOVE 40 MM. AS THAT IS THE LIMIT SET FOR RACING. BUT YOU DONT FEEL THEM WHEN YOU REALLY WHERE THEM. AFTER 2 TO 3 MILES WHEN POUNDING GETS HARD, YOU WANT MORE AND MORE. THE ASPHALT/CONCRETE/PAVEMENT POUNDING IS BRUT OF A DEAL. YOU NEED LOT OF CUSHIONING! IT LOOKS BIG ON CAMERA BUT IN RUNNERS MOULD NOPE! EVEN FOR EVERY DAY WEAR IS GOOD AS THEY STAND OUT. IMO
