Where do I find meaning to my life? It has changed at significant points in my life, and in an obvious cliche having children ~12 years ago shifted that meaning significantly. Necessarily, but not without mistakes, the focus from self to supporting my children and trying to set them up for success/fun in life. I've run casually since I was young, but now in my 40's I view running as a way I can share what it looks like to try hard, learn, have fun, fail, and pick myself up and do it again on a consistent basis. Constancy/Resilience/and Joy. Thanks for this channel Seth:)

There is a huge market in the non runner community for athletic wear and shoes. I think it is a good move on Hoka’s part to capture that market to increase their market share and sales. That in turn could translate into more funds for R&D for the running community shoes and better shoes in that area. So, average is truly great!

For sure because I'm not a runner but I work on my feet 15 hours a day and at times am required to run to fights so runners shoes are best for me. Now if they just had more that are waterproof I would be good because I also have to stand out in the rain lol 😆 all the waterproof ones are on backorder it seems.

I bought a pair of brooks launch 8 the other day because I didn't think hoka were in stores near me but the brooks are a lil narrow in the toes and found a store that does carry hoka in stock so excited to go try the bondi 7 since since it has a wider toe box. Thank you to the running community for helping me with my problem.

Tried the Hoka Mach 4 last year and it was great. Very light and fits nicely out of the box. However, the outsole wore out pretty fast as there is no rubber there. I’m a heavier runner who runs on the road, so that may be the issue. In 2020, I went through 4 pairs of Infinity Flyknits (1800 miles) , so that was my base line.

Some describe hoka's outsole as an eraser. Look up shoe goo on KZbin as many runners use that to make the outsole last longer.

I need a pair of super comfortable shoes that I can walk 25k steps a day at work without my ankles swelling with compression socks and be able to run to fights and a plus would be if they didn't get soaked in the rain since I also have to stand in the rain. It's looking like the bondi 7 waterproof because brooks seems to be too narrow in the toe and the waterproof doesn't come in wide but unfortunately the hoka are on backorder everywhere. I'm not a runner but you guys have the most informative take on the product I need so turned to the experts lol

Hoka shoes wear out extremely quick. When considering the price at $140+tax, they are questionable in their value as an every day shoe. I wear the Mach 4 (and Rincon before that) for exercise walking and am very happy with them. Also Seth recently reviewed the Adistar in another video, which I'm wanting next and look pretty durable,, so check that out.

Your comment concerning the shoe opening up with more miles is an important one. I often find that it takes a minimum of 100 miles on a shoe for it’s true ability to start to rise to the top. A shoe that feels great out of the box is wonderful but they are few and far between.
@keithc12642 жыл бұрын
Some runs are bland (4am, dark, same regular route), and that’s when I least want a bland shoe. Give me a Novablast, an Invincible, an Endorphin Speed. I don’t mind vanilla, but if I can put some caramel on top, I’m going to.

Interestingly, Hoka is marketing this as a gym shoe. I tried it and to me it felt like a firmer and sturdier clifton. The ghost was a good comparison actually, main difference would be the drop but they're pretty similar otherwise.
@over14982 жыл бұрын
Odd, considering a lot of their running shoes have literally no outsole 🤣 Or at least, they have no rubber on the weird solidified EVA outsole, causing them to wear down quick. Then the Kawana has a (small) rubber outsole but it's meant for indoors? 🤔 Hoka you weird.

Let's be real, Hoka's biggest audience is fitness chicks at the gym, and everyday wearers who don't need running features like plates & breathability but want that trademark Hoka look. At least where I live. And that's fine, I think they look good too! 🔥
@Deadbuck732 жыл бұрын
I don’t see that as much around here… I personally think they’re borderline ugly… and the colors are like a bowl of soggy fruity pebbles… that being said… I have been pretty much wearing them exclusively for three years now… only because of how they feel… I just try not to look down too often… 😝

Qd. God. I get that not everybody finds meaning to life in God and most people think of God differently than me and other Catholic Christians, and it's fine some people don't believe in God at all. I'm not saying that in rigidity. God made such a diverse human mind. But I cannot find meaning in life, in my work, or family life, or hobbies like running without God. So today I go out for one of those oatmeal runs. Nothing fancy for me today. Just 4 miles but it's Sunday so I can go to the trails and hear God a bit in his creation.

Question: how do you convince yourself to run in a pair of shoes that is not your favorite? I ask this because I recently bought the new balance RC elite V2. Now, I feel like pulling on any of my other shoes is a waste of time that could be spent in the new balances. However, I also don’t want to wear out my $225 pair of racing shoes by wearing them for every run. Do you have any mental tips or tricks that you use to get yourself to pull on other shoes in your collection that aren’t your favorite, just so you can get miles on those, rather than your favorite pair? ( Just to be clear, there is nothing wrong with my other shoes. They just don’t feel as amazing or comfortable, but they are fine and have been serving me well till now.)
