There’s this misconception with Naruto fans that Hokage Kakashi is weaker without the sharingan, when this is false. Yes, he lost the hax abilities of the sharingan like precognition, sharingan genjutsu, kamui, and being able to safely use chidori, but he’s stronger without sharingan. Hokage Kakashi is confirmed to be stronger than he was in the fourth ninja war, with the narrator of the Kakashi Retsuden story the sixth hokage and the fallen prince confirming he’s stronger than he was when he fought Rinnegan Obito. This is because the stamina drain that came with sharingan no longer applies. Chakra that he needed to set aside to use sharingan goes back into his main chakra pool to be used to amp his physical strength and speed. Remember how war arc kakashi suddenly had more stamina, spamming sharingan a whole day before he ever got Naruto’s chakra? Losing the sharingan was basically his rock lee takes off the weights moment, it unlocked him by giving him more chakra. That’s how he stalemates a woman strong enough to bully the lightning chakra mode fourth raikage after the war and why Kashin Koji retreatd instead of continued to fight him.

How would you rank the hokage? Because personally given the Ridiculous speed feats kakashi and minato pull off I usually gravitate towards something like this: 1. Naruto 2. Kakashi 3. Minato 4. Hiruzen 5. Hashirama 6. Tobirama 7. Tsunade As powerful as Hashirama is, we really get to see in the war arc how slow he is. The only hokage that’s slower than him is Tsunade. So I tend to rank him lower than Hiruzen and kakashi despite his DC scaling higher. What’s your take @NarutoExplained

If you’re saying that the prime Hiruzen statement only refers to base Hashirama that would still mean Hiruzen is stronger than base Hashirama. And with this, what do you think about Hiruzen’s feats in the war arc? When the Kage first show up minato is first on the scene. Followed by hiruzen, tobirama and Hashirama. Tobirama in that instance stated that minato was faster than them, arriving on the battle field first. There’s also Hiruzen out speeding tobirama to save naruto from the divine tree roots. Making old man Edo hiruzen faster than Tobirama. And madara stated that Tobirama was faster than he and Hashirama. So wouldn’t that mean Hiruzen>Tobirama>Madara=hashirama. (When talking about speed and hand to hand combat of course) And on that note are you using KCM2 Minato or Sage mode minato? Edit: do you scale the hokage based on how they’d do against each other, or how powerful they are in general? Because I rank in general. I don’t think Hiruzen or Hokage Minato would beat Hashirama, mostly because they don’t have a counter for his wood style. But that doesn’t mean they’re weaker than him. It just means they can’t counter wood style.

I have mixed feelings about this. Kakakshi's father is the genius ninja feared as the White Fang of the Leaf. In his time, even the Legendary Sannin paled in comparison - Minato Namikaze In Sakumo's time, The Rasengan hadn't been developed, and by extension, Jiraya did not have it in his arsenal. His mastery over Sage Mode was likely to be even worse. Based on all the flashbacks, Orochimaru started experimenting with forbidden jutsu 10 years before the events of part 1, and Sakumo had been dead for a decade by then. Finally, based on chapter 169, it's made clear to us that Tsunade began developing the Byakugou seal long after she had left the Leaf. Sakumo was strong, but he's not some god. People took Minato's words out of context to the story's timeline.

People are sleeping on Hokage Kakashi. In the retsuden novels kakashi invented more Jutsu. He invented light speed fire styles, purple lightning that is meant to replace lightning blade and he invented earth styles so powerful they cover entire villages and he can crystallize them to make them stronger. Losing his sharingan actually made his chakra reserves increase, now he has more massive amounts of chakra than he use to (the sharingan drain is so massive even Itachi and shisui would deactivate it just to spar but kakashi never could deactivate it) kakashi still remembers the thousands of Jutsu he copied over the years. He even stated he’s stronger than he was during the war arc with one sharingan. And back then he was already fighting Multiple V2 Jinchuriki making him way above sanin level. Not to mention he could match kashin Koji who fought jigen. Kakashi is no joke

I think the fact that he had the sharingan for so long practically upgraded his talent too, he was already a genius but after getting the sharingan and copying so many jutsus he would also be gaining more insight into jutsus to be able to make his own easier, and now with more chakra reserves for them too, so really a huge boon for him

Also, it's not just the massive chakra amp. Yes, it gives him way higher physical stats and allows him to spam ninjutsu without any issue, but he also is able to use way stronger ninjutsu now. He's able to create mud walls that reach the clouds and counter 50 lightning style jutsu, like Madara when he countered those waterstyles with his firestyle. Except it's probably a little more impressive, since earth is weak against lightning. He has invented purple lightning, which has been confirmed to be stronger than Chidori due to its versatility, shape changing ability, range and even physical force that it applies. He also invented a firestyle jutsu that can essentially one shot an entire village. It's an S rank just like purple lightning, I'm certain. Furthermore it was stated he is one of the only people who mastered all 5 chakra natures. This means, that even if his initial affinity was lightning, and could kinda do other natures at like B rank level beforehand, Hokage Kakashi is capable of using all chakra natures at the same level and it's as though he has a natural affinity to all of them. Like the mud wall example had shown, he can 100% use S rank ninjutsu in all natures and probably even combine them as long as it doesn't require a Kekkei Genkai. Basically Hiruzen was a nerfed version of Hokage Kakashi, because he's another who mastered all natures. Except we haven't seen anything as impressive as novel Kakashi from Hiruzen, not even close to it. Hokage Kakashi holds up pretty well in strength even for Boruto. It's funny to think about, but he's probably 3rd strongest Hokage after Naruto and Hashirama, and could likely beat the fuck out of Itachi and Nagato/Pain. He's either 3rd or 4th, Minato might still be stronger but like, difficult to say since we didn't see him do anything in Boruto and we just have novel feats for the most part.

War arc Kakashi beat a much stronger version of Obito that Minato already had to use full strength for (though he also had to care about Kurama obviously). Still that was 15 yo Obito without the Rinnegan so... Hokage Kakashi I see as being quite a lot stronger than war arc, actually. Not just me either, the novel says much stronger too. I'm not sure that we can even really use KCM Minato as a fair argument here. I mean, Minato didn't have it when he was the Hokage. It was a temporary Edo state and the only reason he acquired it was because Naruto had made peace with Kurama. Plus I'd argue Minato didn't have nearly as good of a control or use over that form as Naruto did. KCM2 Naruto and Hashirama you can argue are relative. But it felt like KCM Minato was weaker than KCM Naruto. Since Naruto also incorporated perfect sage mode and he was much better at using it than Minato. Plus his chakra control was immaculate. Yeah it's difficult to say who's stronger there, Kakashi or Minato. But again, is it even fair to Kakashi? Since if we're going off of everyone's strongest forms and not just when they were Hokage, Kakashi not only destroys Minato but Hashirama as well and would almost stalemate Hokage Naruto in DMS. You know what I mean? DMS was as legitimate and temporary as Minato's KCM far as arguments are concerned. Gonna stop sitting on the fence and say I think Hokage Kakashi just barely edges it with KCM Minato. His Jutsu are basically like Bijuu bombs, maybe as strong as Kurama bijuu bombs and I feel like he can likely counteract act or defend against them with his crazy mud walls etc. He can also just spam them. If Minato gets close, he can use purple lightning. Kakashi's reaction and movement speeds should actually be equal to Minato's, given what we've seen from the fight with a 15 yo Obito and adding KCM stat boosters to it VS Hokage Kakashi blitzing Rinnegan Obito in the speed department by a wide margin. Flying Raijin and Rasengan are still Minato's strongest weapons, he can't fuse his bombs or Rasengan with nature elements like Naruto, he doesn't really use shadow clones whilst Kakashi uses them and clones made of all nature chakra too. Minato will run out of chakra way before KCM Naruto would and likely struggles maintaining KCM as it needs very specific chakra control. Naruto's chakra is like another bijuu, whilst no such life force or chakra reserves were ever attributed to Minato. In fact, when fighting against Obito and Kurama, I thought he ran out of it rather quickly. Whilst after losing the Sharingan, Kakashi pretty much has to have bijuu levels of chakra reserves as well. I mean it was implied that due to his non Uchiha genes and not even having Hashirama cells, it drained him massively. He can spam S rank. Enough said. KCM for Minato is only a stat boost. Hokage for Kakashi was a stat boost and gaining so many other abilities with it. Let my boy Kakashi have that. Plus still the argument of whether KCM is fair to consider for Hokage Minato lol Edit: I know that Kurama will help Minato with chakra, I just meant like how sage mode is a balance of different elements, it has to be similar to that since to use it, you need to assimilate your own chakra with it. Once Minato runs out of his own chakra, it's likely difficult to control it, which is probably why he wasn't constantly in it during the war arc. Either way, should be a close fight

However, him being way stronger than war arc kakashi is pretty huge...war arc kakashi was comparable to 7th gate Gai, that alone is above the five kage who fought Madara. Hokage Kakashi's comp starts at Hokage Alive Minato. He's VERY strong now. Around alive Minato but weaker than KCM Edo Minato.

No that's different. Why? Sasuke has a body that was genetically suited to use the sharingan and rinnegan...Kakashi doesn't...he had to set aside chakra just to use the basic sharingan and even more chakra just to use the mangekyou, that chakra was set aside for stamina, which is why he got gassed so fast...all that chakra meant to be used for stamina to use the sharingan and mangekyou goes back into his chakra pool, which then gets used to amp his stats since that's chakra he couldn't previously use. That doesn't apply to Sasuke...or any Uchiha...hence Itachi told Kakahsi, you use our sharingan well, but your body isn't an uchiha, so you run into problems using it...

Idk why people dont get this. Naruto was a force to be reckoned with some times almost purely based in his chakra. With kakashi it was bc of his skill but now he has an insane chakra pool to go with it bc he spent his entire life raising his chakra level to accommodate a sharingan as a non uchiha

Sharingan is a huge help, but not required. The true strength of the Sharingan, something more valuable than the hacks, was the learning buff. The Uchiha comprised the majority of the police force, not because of hacks, but because of skill. Sasuke watched Lee fight Gaara, and learned some of Lee's techniques from one fight, well enough to apply them when he fought Gaara. That was only learning, and had nothing to do with the actual application of techniques, that took Lee years to learn. The genjutsu is only valuable if you look an Uchiha in the eye. The village in the mist made techniques to prevent such, and Guy learned how to predict movement by watching feet. With all the training and competitions that Guy and Kakashi did, Kakashi was learning. The jutsu that he used still exists, the techniques that he learned, and arguably the movement prediction that he learned from the Sharingan still exists, but is there, but not maintained by jutsu, but by hard work, decades of experience, and amazing natural talent.

I have to disagree, regardless of who 'confirmed' this fake news. Kakashi without Kamui, Full Body Susanoo is just demonstrably weaker. It's simply way too much to lose in your arsenal. Base Sharingan gives resistance to genjutsu and better reaction times. Kakashi also had access to Kamui lightning cutter, Kamui Shuriken which are some of the only S rank jutsu in the Naruto series. Mangekyo Sharingan is just way too overpowered of a Dojutsu. Plus stamina isn't really going to increase your potency in battle if you could just alternatively Kamui someones head off (like what he does with Deidara's arms).

the only thing he lost was the ability to use kamui and the hax of the sharingan eye of insight and hypnotism. Any jutsu kakashi copied, he can still perform. all sharingan does is allow you to copy the jutsu and understand it faster. he can still use the 1k jutsu he copied.
