What a nice video. No nonsense. Would be nice if there was a summary of the stops somewhere in the content. Looking forward to 2 months of japan in April and May, two weeks of them should be Hokkaido.....

I always enjoy your trips a lot. Usually your hiking trips or overseas trips give me some good inspiration, but this time you've done a tour that I've already done myself - and it was still very interesting to see. :) I've been to Hokkaido 3 times, once in spring, winter and summer. I'm just missing autumn. I didn't realize there was a shinkansen going there nowadays. The last time I was in Hokkaido was in 2014. :) .... I also did a similar road trip in August once. It was super expensive, though. It was high travel season, I had to fly in from Kansai, there were only big rental cars left ... a typhoon hit and I had to change plans etc. But I still enjoyed it so, so much! I guess that heart-shaped lake makes only really sense if you come with a drone like you did, so maybe that's also why not so many people went there? But I have to admit I had never heard of it before. :) Haha, yeah a lot of people told me that Hokkaido looks a lot like my home region so I never wanted to live there. ;P But there's the ocean and all the fresh seafood, so it's still very different. Thanks for sharing your trip with us! ^____^ I already saw a lot of photos on Instagram, but the drone footage is always the best! :D I miss Japan a lot. I have lived in Japan for 7 years and then moved back to Germany. I travelled then to Japan at least twice a year, but yeah ... we're not allowed to enter at the moment and usually October / November is my main travel time in Japan. So sad. :( ..... Even travelling in Europe is restricted again as more and more risk regions pop up again. I just returned from France which was lovely!

is it easy to drive in Hokkaido?
@shaunkeenanphoto9 ай бұрын
It is very easy to drive here. Depending on where you are coming from, it may be on the opposite side of the car and ride though. Generally, people drive slowly and are very courteous. Winter can be challenging though if you’ve never driven in snow. ❄️
Hi, its a really amazing video!. Is it possible to share the drone model you guys used it looked super stable with wind as well.

Hello Maaike, I'm considering doing a 1 week car trip in Hokkaido with 2 friends. We are traveling from Canada and have been to hokkaido twice already and loved it. We are foodies though, and eating great food is the most important thing for us. I find in Japan, rural areas are hit or miss when it comes to food. How did you find the food in the remote areas of Hokkaido ?

What a great video! My partner and I just got back from our Hokkaido road trip! Quick question because I’m interested in “camping” in the back of a rental car - where would you shower and change every day while on these trips? Also, how did you store your luggage? Thanks!
I like raw and fried oysters. I like cocktail sauce and lemon on raw oysters.

Might be all Japanese forget about this beautiful Hokkaido sometimes. Because these great nature view is not special as Japanese. So I and all Japanese have to recognize"These nature are not special,and maybe has limited term”. Well We should go Hokkaido,then check each nice view place!! 北海道行かなきゃあかんな
