Remember this happening, my Grandad and I walked right passed the hotel 1 week before the landslide happened. He showed me the cracks and explained about erosion. A couple weeks or so later remember seeing it up close all falling down was a scary sight.

Yes was a very sad day for the town, I thought it would be interesting to see what the site looks like today 😊. I don’t think there will be anything done with site anytime soon. Scarborough is a fantastic town and it’s history has always fascinated me. I have done a video on the Bombardment of Scarborough, which u might also enjoy 😊. Thank you very much for your comment and very kind words Dawn and thank you so much for subscribing 😊. I have plenty more videos to come and appreciate your input on my channel 👍🏻😊.

@@JakeYorkman unbelievable that there were still guests in the hotel preparing for breakfast when they were told to leave as they were 14 feet closer to the edge than the previous night .

We get a load of landslip at Blackgang on the isle of Wight. Amazing how quickly nature reclaims the land. Respect for putting Yorkshire on the map, I bet you could get some awesome photos of Scarborough down there at night :-)

I bet it’s a common occurrence down on the Isle of Wight. It’s seems a beautiful place from what I’ve seen. Yeah it’s beautiful on the seafront at night 👍🏻. Cheers for the comment mate and hope you have a good weekend.

I remember going down their 3 days in a row with my camcorder taking video, I kept running out of battery filming it waiting for more collapse spoke to a few people over those days about what happened to the cliff, part of the main problem was poor drainage and water saturation causing the loose material to slide from too much water ingress between the layers of soft silt on top of clay deposits. Of coarse water can't go through clay so it turned into like rice pudding and flopped over. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6PMoGZtablonac
