merveilleux concerto, grande finesse dans l'interprétation,très reposant une de mes oeuvre préférée. Grieg est un grand compositeur que j'aime beaucoup. pour ceux qui ne savent pas qui etait Holberg il est le fondateur de la littérature danoise auteur du 17ème siècle, si je me rappelle bien.Né à Bergen en Norvège et mort à Copenhague à l'age de 69 ans

One of my favorites too ! Indeed very relaxing. You can feel the quiet cold fresness of Norway in this composition and interpretation of Herbert von Karian. My father had it in lp. If I am mentaly feeling not well I often go back too this version and it helps me to find control again I love the painting as well. In the past it was in KZbin with a picture off an mountain lake or Fjord

Delightful. Karajan showed that the prelude can be played at a more modest tempo and still be very effective.

Finally the version with the slower tempo! All the others are just too fast in places. I grew up with the slower version :)
