One of the sweet ladies at the Paws and Claws Thrift here in Ellijay, has a Kenmore that she somehow bent hers and I told her whatever you do don't let anyone tell you it's not fixable.

@@CowCountryVintageSewingRepair I missed the live feed but have watched it now and that is awesome you had the exact model to demonstrate with. Mom's serger died and she's used it nearly every Thursday in her church quilting group doing community projects since 2003. What saddens me is one of the church member's there charges them to fix their machines even when it requires no parts. He ( cough cough) fixed my Singer I had that was already fixed by me. I fixed the alignment issue but there's a short somewhere. Charged $45 to say it was fixed. Nope, still has the same short it had before. Cough cough. Saddens me to no end that she gave it to him to fix because when she brought it home and it was doing the same thing she said, oh he isn't certified so he can't take them apart and fix them. Keep in mind these ladies spend their own money for the most part to do their projects. They make a large quilt once a year to auction so they can raise some funds but they still used their money to make it. All I can do is hope she doesn't get taken with her machine and learns to listen when gently advised that she needs to find someone who can fix it.

As for the sweet lady with the Kenmore, I'm going to find out which one it is that she has so I can do some investigating and see if I can fix it for her. She said she was making a dog bed and thinks she had the material too thick and somehow bent it. I think it could possibly be out of alignment which is what I told her.
