Anyone knocking Orient Star clearly doesn't know what they're talking about. These watches are meticulously finished by hand, in house everything. They can also be had for $1500 from Japan, and in my opinion, at that price it smashes everything.

I honestly don't know why brands think that adding gems will make watches automatically attractive to women. Just make the regular watches 38 or 36mm and we will buy them. Not all of us like everything bejeweled. I like the speedy reduced of the 90s. it fits and looks very much like the regular speedy.
@24hourstime8 ай бұрын
That was also the feedback from my wife haha I think those companies should hire more women to design watches!

I have an inexpensive Orient Star Classic with the power reserve on top, white dial. It’s a 39mm so it helps with the symmetry when it comes to empty space. Still, I’d rather have the date window replace the marker at 3 instead of being to the left of it. It’s a nice watch, nonetheless.
@weeks558 ай бұрын
The cost is justified when you think about how much magenta Epson must have used to print those dials

Orient and CW are shooting for the moon here with considerable price hikes and for me both missed. I own a CW with the sh21 which I bought in a sale for £500 not so long ago. I also picked up an Orient Star dive watch for £300 in late '23. Inflation and some!! Enjoy these vids. Solid info with no "review fee" hype in the mix.

Seiko groups strategy to my eyes is having Lorus be the value for money proposition that swiko used to hold and have seiko as the higher tier with orient being the middle man... that way seiko can justify the price increases and have the other brands in the group top up the budget/ value for money options that seiko used to have models in... its the only possible explanation I can see for price increases in the seiko line and orient at the moment.... Great video as always 😊

Wow, Christopher Ward continues to amaze me and grab my attention! Since the Bel Canto and the Moon aventurine dial watch, this skeleton watch is so attractive. Kudos to Christopher Ward for being new, innovative, and constantly developing watches that collectors want to buy! Plus Christopher Ward makes their watches affordable & available! Kudos to 24Hours at a Time for bringing us this relevant new content. Short & to the point every time without any hype!

Thank you! I agree with you on the Christopher Ward. I think most of their latest watches have been winners. I also really like this skeleton dial Twelve.

It's a stretch to call an stp movement 'in-house' although fossil do own them. It's a bit like Certina or Tissot calling an ETA movement 'in-house'!
@24hourstime8 ай бұрын
Thanks for this explanation!
@whoissnooze8 ай бұрын
Common practice it is. Take an SW200, engrave your brandname on the rotor and the in-house movement is created. Even brands like IWC, Panerei, Breitling and so on. It's sad but it is all about the green.

Tbh everything is going bonkers expensive nowadays, watches are no exception, they werent ever cheap if you really think what they are. You certainly know shit has hit the fan when You have ORIENTs and CWs commanding 3 to 5k $ prices. Time to switch the hobby or just support new upcoming micros.

Amazing that Christopher Ward produced this skeletonized Twelve while ticking all the desirable boxes, except the design of the skeleton/dial: it just lacks a discernable, esthetically pleasing form. I can't understand this.

The movement in the Zodiac is made by STP (Swiss Technology Production), an independent movement manufacturer. It isn't in-house.

Orient have reputation of poor asian brand only for country of third category,its snobisme against the brand,i worn different model of orient and there acurach was the same than seiko at alf of the price,orient need to find an iconic model just like citizen do with tsuyosa or serie 8 who change the image of the brand,if they do that they could have a new image with customer,but in general its a decent brand..of clurse i dont know this expensive model and i dont know if the price is the good price,not sure....
