Many thanks for the in depth video and multitude of watches covered! I know your channel is working as is, but please consider slowing down your speech delivery, and maybe having 2 videos? for this amount of covers? :) I'd also love to hear you talk about the Quartz/Mechanical movements used. It seems so easy to pay £200 more for a watch with the same movement as an 'aliexpress' one. Are we really getting +£150 of better case and bracelet quality?? Anyway, thanks for your time, and I hope I gave some constructive feedback. (Yes, no hate trolling here).

I had been hesitant as my wrist is smaller so anything over 41mm gives me pause but seeing it on your wrist and understanding how the lug to lug makes it fit closer to a 40mm really helped and I really liked your suggestion on the color. If orient is listening, My Christmas wish is for a 36mm explorer "style" watch at the ray/mako price points. I recently took to ali express because I wanted to try 36mm and not be out a bunch of money. Of course I went straight to the orient catalogue but no luck. I now love the size and would probably daily an orient in this format.

The Orient Flight series was my entry into the automatic watch world. I have one in each of the dial colors (green, cream, black, etc.) in the “B” dial. The Flight series is rather basic as some have noted, but the B dial always gets comments. Orient improved the series when it upgraded the movement to hack and hand wind. Can confirm Orient rubber straps are crazy long. My wrist is nearly 8” and there’s still pleeeeeeenty of holes to spare when I strap on their rubber straps even on the relatively short L2L on the Ray, on my bigger Triton (the OG ISO rated, power reserve model) it’s almost too long to be wearable.

Oh man, I saw this and got excited. I mean it. I have the Orient flieger on my wrist as I watch it, so yeah- I’m coming in with a strong pro-Orient bias. That said, as much as I deeply love my Ray II (Raven, thank you), Mako II, and flieger, I’ve had some stinkers that are no longer in the collection. So yeah, Orient is hands-down one of the best brands out there, overall- but not perfect. The mineral crystals on all the Ray and Mako have proven very robust. What is relatively fragile is the aluminum bezel- be careful with that one. I slightly dinged the one on my Ray II by bumping it against a heavy glass door at the office. Some people find the beefy bracelets on the Mako II to be a bit much, I say if you have a 7” or larger wrist, don’t sweat it. I love the lack of taper, personally. I would respectfully suggest that the F6922 is clearly superior to a Miyota 8000-series and fully the equal of a NH-35. The Kamasu is objectively one of the best value automatics on the market, yet it doesn’t speak to me. No reason why. This hobby is a personal one. The Triton and the Kanno capture my imagination, which is probably reflective of the fact that I really like tool, or tool-style, watches. And I can easily wear a 44mm, so…Kanno…my pretty. At some point I plan on taking my relationship with Orient to the next level and getting an Orient Star, but there is just so little reall motivation to do so when the “value” line remains so compelling across so many different model lines. Anyway, Ben, this was great. Thank you for doing it and spreading the Orient love. Oh heck, FWIW, the only dress watch I own is a Gen 2 Bambino brown dial. I never wear it (casual office, etc.) but will never get rid of it.

I initially wanted to get a Bambino because I love roman numerals but it’s WAY too big to be a dress watch on my skinny 6 inches wrist, can’t Orient just made it smaller like 36-39mm? I know they got a 39mm version but that one doesn’t have a roman numerals. I also interested their Sun&Moon because of Sapphire Crystal but that is even larger. Seriously, what does watch brands have against roman numerals anyway? I have been looking for a dress watch with roman numerals with case size no larger than 39mm (and preferably with Sapphire Crystal) but couldn’t find many.
