Moving into new stages of life is always scary. As my parents age and I remember my grandmother who battled severe dementia in the last ten years of her life, this song I co-wrote with a good friend of mine and a beautiful woman struggling with her mother's illness hits home more now than ever. May this touch and comfort those who've cared for loved ones suffering in their later years. Free Voice Lessons: chrisliepe.com/free-your-voice/

Thank you, Chris. This truly touched me. I’ve lost so much-my mom, my dog, and even my ability to walk, all taken from me in cruel succession by someone who hurt me. Piece by piece, what I was seemed to vanish, and my identity slipped away, leaving my life forever changed and heavy with bitterness. Yet, amidst the pain, I found a spark-I began to learn to sing from your courses. Your song resonates deeply, lifting the veil of sorrow with its embrace of cherished memories and the bittersweet understanding of life's ever-turning tide. Thank you for creating something so meaningful. Kind regards, Christopher in Sweden

Why the hell isn't this viral? It’s one of the most beautiful songs written in, at least, the last 10 years. The melody is angelic, and the feeling that you convey is simply magical. I hope one day the whole world knows how great you are, Chris.

I lost my brother who was only 54 to Frontal Lobe Dementia and I am now older than he got to see 5 yrs later. After he died lost an aunt then last year an uncle to this vicious disease, a different sort of dementia true but they are all as pernicious and relentless in their progress, a truly evil disease. So...this song hits hard with me, it encompasses the fragility of the sufferer and the burning desire of their loved one to hold the pieces together, I appreciate this song though it made me cry. Well done Chris

I've been watching your channel for awhile now. Easily my favorite vocal coach, always so talented and curious and professional. Always enjoy your content, especially the harsh vocal things. I absolutely love seeing you come out with something like this that is so close to you and those around you. Wishing the best from a fan in AZ. Prayers for you and your friends family.

a very touching piece of music and a wonderful instrumental composition that reminds me a lot of chris cornell's solo work. even though I have nothing to do with the creation of this song, I somehow feel proud of you. like being proud of a friend who did something great for himself and in this case for many others. even though we're just guys on the internet the power of music manages to connect us and that's as always a great thing!

Wow 😭 This is so beautiful and moving. My mom battled cancer in 2020 that metastasized to her brain near the end. You really captured the joy and sorrow, the pain yet the honour of walking with a loved and cherishing them and holding on to their memories when they no longer can. Oh my this is something special Chris. Thank you for sharing this 🙏🥰

Very powerful yet subtle, beautiful song. A good break from the noise in modern music. After reading your comment about dementia, Im going through that with my grandfather where he is going through the abuse stage. Very angry, confused and sad. I appreciate hearing the backstory behind the track and revealing honest vulnerability that a lot of us deal with on the path of life. Thanks for this one Chris.

Hey Chris i think that sometmes you forget how talented singer you are. Because you are a such a good teacher and puting so much in to it that i think that;s it is possible to forget that you are a better singer than 1000s of 21 th centyries singers...

This is absolutely stunning Chris. My mother suffered a brain injury a few years ago. She died but was resuscitated. She now needs constant care. Taking what little positive there is in that situation, I now have the honour of returning the love and care she showed to me all my years of growing up. Her mum died of dementia whilst she was in a coma and she never got to say goodbye. My other grandmother is in the mid-late stages of it as well I would love to learn this song and send you a cover if it's ok with you This just resonates with me so much. Thank you for sharing man ❤

My grandmother had dementia too. In retrospect the worst part was just how protracted it was, almost a decade, and how the person she was disappeared long before her actual death. No last words or final conversation, the funeral was as if it was for someone who had vanished years ago despite the hundreds in attendance. Most tears had already been shed. It's horrible in such a strange way.
@chrisliepe23 күн бұрын
Very similar to my grandmother. It makes you question everything… to see a person vanish, or become a tormented shell of who they once were. The suffering. But no way redemption. Just worse an and worse until death.

good song, touching. Although it is not appropriate, but since this is the last in the list of videos on the channel, I will recommend the song, perhaps not for the channel but simply as a listen: Jerry Heil - snow. She was at Eurovision for Ukraine - she sings beautifully

What a great, beautiful song :) And i really enjoyed hearing you sing a full song for the first time and not just little demo's - you have a great voice! But what I want to ask is, how did you sing this that differs from how you would have before you started this channel? Have you encorporated much youve learned? There is quite a lot of grit, and I know you've covered a lot of that- and quite a bit of changes in style, that while not as extreme, made me wonder if you've adopted some of the things Ado does?
@chrisliepe24 күн бұрын
Thank you for listening and enjoying! Yes, I’ve learned a TON from analyzing Ado and many of the other singers I get to dig into on the channel, and they have absolutely helped me improve over the years. I love that teaching and learning is a circular activity.
