While I love Runaway as much as the next weirdo, I mostly see it as a gateway drug for reactors new to Aurora at this point. I really hope you get into some of the more complex songs from the recents years from her. Reactors usually focus on the marvel of the young Aurora, but her voice is even better today.

Bjork is one of Aurora's influences, and Bjork is actually a fan of Aurora. They both pull from traditional Scandinavian types of singing. There are also some more electronic Aurora songs where the Bjork influence is really apparent, especially in some of her lyricism. Aurora is also a very experimental artist much like Bjork.

Great reaction Chris! Good comments and links below. I will add that she never do a song the same way when she performs, she twists and turns them to her liking in that moment. Also you can find many of her songs in several versions : acapella, then add a guitar or a piano, more voices, bass and drums, her full band, then add a male choir, church organ, harp, strings section, or even a full philharmonic orchestra. Also, her music videos are pure art, she directs them mostly herself, and she is a fab dancer too having done modern dance from age 6 to 16.

In case you're looking for it, here's the KZbin link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJSqaq2Kr9icqac - this is more than a just a performance - it's a spiritual experience. If you ever want a full concert, either for a reaction or just to enjoy by yourself/with your kid. She have something called the "HAIK concert". HAIK is a tv show here in Norway that fills a day full of surprises for the chosen artist, and then at the end the artist have a concert. For Aurora, they decorated a forest full of fairytale looking things, as she talks a lot about spending her childhood in solitude on the forests just reflecting and thinking. And I think her love for nature and music is reflected in each other - so the concert is magical.

AURORA best female singer ever born
@i_am_m338411 ай бұрын
I'm quite old and most of my adult life I wasn't actually interested in pop music. I preferred Jazz, Progressive Rock, Blues, Folk and classical music for decades. There are only a few pop singers who are able to get my real attention (that doesn't mean, that I want to dismiss the vocal capabilities of singers like Whitney Houston, Adele or so many other popular singers, who are great). But TBH the main reason, why I don't really want to listening to pop music was just because I felt, that the majority of all these gifted singers (with very few exceptions) seemingly didn't really care about the meaning of their songs (and for some reasons I didn't like that approach). Aurora is different! Edit: I don't claim, that Aurora is the only singer (songwriter/musician) being 'different' or that many 'mainstream' singers (at least occasionally) are not always really 'mainstream', but it happened not very often. From my point of view we have examples, that during the last decades singer/songwriters like Kate Bush or Tracy Chapman or Björk (the focus of this comment is for obvious reasons on female singer/songwriters because Aurora is female) they are able to get international recognition and also (not only) had financial success while being 'different' and also staying 'different' from the flock through their careers.

Followed AURORA (no, I'm not shouting, it's how she wants her name credited!) since 2017. She's unique. She reminds me of Elizabeth Fraser from The Cocteau Twins. Not only that, but she wrote this song and its arrangement at age 11. Yes, 11. She writes all her material and directs her own videos in collaboration with a long-time friend. Her sister makes all her outfits for the videos. She's a classically trained dancer as well. She's a national treasure in Norway. My favourite AURORA songs are Black Water Lilies, I Went Too Far, The M*rder Song, Runaway and Queendom. YT has a few live concerts of hers. One was held in a Norwegian forest mid-winter with lanterns and Reindeer, just magical. Another was in a Cathedral with a choir. There are also a few Capella songs too. Watch them as she's mesmerising, quirky and unique. She totally immerses herself in the lyrics and music, unaware of the audience in front of her. It's just her and the music at that particular point in time.
