As a zoning player myself, I'm personally really hyped to see a zoning team take down all these rushdown teams. It's different, and I can tell it takes great execution, and also thinking where to fire the soul fists so the enemy can't get past them. Not to mention he doesn't purely zone, he uses those soul fists as a cover to rush the enemy down too, and man can the man hit confirm from ANYTHING. I really like to watch ChrisG play.

Good video but a couple things: I like the interactive menu but I wish you'd put it in the very start of the video from now for convenience (not 30 seconds in). Would be nice if the text was bigger and maybe put the teams they use tho that might be a little too much too fit in lol. Also it would be nice if the thumbnails linked to the beginning of the match rather than the character select. Nearly every match video has a top comment where someone links a time that skips that part.

I agree with you. It'd be one thing if Chris G's bullet hell tech was the only thing he did, but he has an awesome rush down game with Morrigan as well. And there are plenty of strategies that can go through her mirror mode. It's not that the technique is BS (although it is a bit), it's that Chris has also found better ways to maximize it and make it more effective.

THANK YOU. I have been saying this for the longest. Everyone wants to bash him for using her. There are SEVERAL other players using her but not doing as well as him. There is a reason for that.

Well can't be mad at ChrisG for being the most consistent winner in UMvC3 right now. His Morridoom combo is hard to beat especially that Morrigan. His hit confirms are crazy. Things that you don't think are going to combo he somehow pulls it out and gets a full combo. Smh. I agree that PR is currently the second best player behind ChrisG right now.

When he says that, he's letting the audience know that if the player doesn't drop a combo, the character will be dead. It's the same thing both players will be thinking at that point, so it's highly relevant.

Lastly I was really hoping for Justin Wong to win this tournament, however it seems lately that PR Balrog is his kryptonite, while ChrisG and JWong imo are equal on who'll win on any given day. Here's to seeing More Tournies in the Near Future. Hate, HATE, the way UMvC3 plays (when compared to its superior predecessors) but I can't help but Love the Hype behind this game which is what makes me enjoy UMvC3.

Yeah, pretty much. If he doesn't miss his relaunch here during the HB, he would've won that entire set. Same thing with Yipes situation against PR Rog as well. The whole tournament would've been different if both players hadn't dropped their combos. Wong is playing incredibly well up against ChrisG and her Morri/Doom but those drops have cost him dearly in both tournaments. However many more tournaments on the road to Evo to come w/ NorCal, UFGT, and CEO still!!!

Because the issue is not just one character. Morrigan is not nearly as difficult to deal with if Doom missiles are not present. You notice a lot of the times that people try to snipe either Doom or Morrigan, because without one, the strategy falls apart. However, Virgil is a fantastic character, but requires skill to play.

UMvC3 won't die. I hate the game from a strategical standpoint, BUT the HYPE for this game is Enormous. It is right now nearly equivalent to what MvC2 in terms of Hype. Their is a lot of bragging rights going about, a lot of money matches, the best players in the USA are mainly focused on playing this game. It won't be dying anytime soon, believe me. Morrigan/Doom is refreshing in a game where nearly 95% of the cast rush down 24/7.

Some takeaways: 1. ChrisG is scary good. 2. It's a shame Yipes had to use his Spencer team because of the PS3s, it's not his best team and that choke was heartbreaking. 3. PR Rog has solidified himself as #2 behind ChrisG in UMvC3.

Firebrand's Luminous Body lets you build meter. And I see rushdown that's just as overwhelming as AV, but I rarely see anyone ever complain about that, mainly because zoning is "boring." And I don't think taking away AV will hurt Morrigan (I even say it in the previous comment, lol). My whole point is that out of all the possible nerfs people could suggest for Morrigan, they say "don't let AV gain meter" when that would hardly hurt her game.

Agree, but you see guys like Justin who could make comeback with Storm or Akuma numerous times more than Chris G. I mean, no offend, Chris G is probably the strongest among east coast. But he could get better if he spend more time in the lab with other characters (in this case, Doom and Vergil).

In all honesty, name me another player that uses Chris Gs team that isn't completely garbage. I do agree that it's not game breaking but it's incredibly easy strategy and a lot of lower skilled players hop on this wagon however a slight nerf to getting rid of meter gain in astral vision would make this strategy somewhat respectable.

that soul fist stuff involves a lot of flight mode/ flight cancelling. It's not exactly the easiest thing to do execution wise. It's more hype than these long winded TAC infinites.

Counterpicks exist in Marvel to a large degree, not just ChrisG's team. The fact is that aside from a solid strategy & great execution, he is a very solid player and often has to come back from losing Morrigan early. That is what sets him apart from your random gimmick riding player. Also, the rest of the top players are adapting fast and thats why you are seeing Chris being much more offensive at times.

I actually enjoy watching chris's morrigan. The way in which he controls her shows his near full mastery with the character and is amazing to watch. I'm a fool even though Chris G doesn't worry about a mix-up game or an OTG game with Morrigan at all. When and if he does get in with Morrigan he finishes his combo and if it doesn't kill it just doesn't. He eases off and goes back into the fireball setup which is more psychological than anything because its difficult to deal with no matter how good you are at the game. Easying off from the corner means he doesn't have to worry about incoming helm breaker and SDS Hyper he can unfly.

Give it another year or two and you'll see the balance factor start to dissipate within this game. One year ago Justin Wong was using and winning with Iron Fist, & now he doesn't even exist except for LoL reasons. MvC2 started off the same way, a lot of viable characters however 3-4 years down the road, that completely changed when players learned the game more, their executions got better and just plain got better.
