In 1999 I was stationed at Bragg after I had blown out my knee on a bad jump, and one evening I went out in Fayetteville and saw that the cheap "not new movies" theater was playing a movie called "Once Were Soldiers." I had always loved combat films growing up... but I think I lasted less than half an hour before I was overcome with feelings that I can't even begin to express... like sadness mixed with anger and indignation... and I just straight up left the theater because I couldn't take it anymore, feeling like I was about to explode and cry... and I had never cried from a movie in my life before that. Service changes you... and I think the more Highspeed you are, the worse the shit hits you after you ETS back to Fort Living Room. Now I have no enthusiasm for war movies at all, and have derived zero pleasure from since that day.

Sean Smith (the IT guy) was a high ranking leader in a game called EVE Online, for the largest group in the game at the time. He was their Diplomat and Spy Master. His gamer name.....was Vile Rat. He loved his real life job so much, that he would do the same job in a game for his friends. He was a key player in many of the largest conflicts that have ever happened in a video game in history. On the night of the attack he was logged into a chat service with his friends. He told them about gunfire being nearby and at the gate, before he went silent....... forever. There are a couple memorial videos on KZbin that players made for him, and a service was held in the game that had thousands of players show up and (essentially, with things ingame) hold a candle (in this case, a "cyno") vigil in his honor. Still to this day, the forums url his group uses was named after him as well, and there are yearly memorials.

A big part of the reason Hillary Clinton wasn't elected in 2016 was because of how badly she botched this operation and her foreign policy in Libya in general. The US destabilized Libya in large part because Gaddafi was socializing Libya's oil reserves. The way Gaddafi died was unspeakably brutal (he was sodomized to death with a sword), and the country descended into complete chaos after his death. Libya was one of the most prosperous regions in Africa prior to the coup, and now there are open air slave markets.

Actually this incident had no bearing on why Clinton lost the election as it wasn’t remotely her fault. She lost for not campaigning enough in the battleground states and taking states like Pennsylvania for granted. She actually lobbied congress for increased security at ALL of our embassies but the then republican congress didn’t want to foot the bill. They cut costs for the 1% and people died. If you want to blame anyone it was the do nothing republican congress. I’m sick of people blaming Clinton when she is on record trying to save lives and increase security. All of this could have been avoided. Getting rid of Gaddafi was a good move. Socializing oil is never a good thing for the world market. If congress had stepped up with the requests for increased security, none of this happens. That’s a fact.

I served 10 years in the army. 6 as a ranger and this movie is highly accurate except how the 320 blew that tactical in half. They are not that strong. 4 tours and seeing a fallen battle brother never dulls. But in the midst of the fight there's no time to weep. You let that all go when you RTB. So in the beginning it was really smart that Tyron woods did not meet with Jack right away. It was good that he stood in the stairwell that way he could observe if Jack had a tail on him while he walked to the car. I found small details like that to be really cool because we did apply that in real world scenarios. Now I'm not the best of the best Like Delta, Navy seals etc but rangers do get a good bit of training and we often do CQC and CQB which is close quarters combat and close quarters battles (clearing rooms) With different military groups. So sometimes a seal may actually teach a ranger something new that they never known. And rangers Are JSOC qualified which means joint special operations command. Basically meaning rangers can roll out with a SEAL Team but we may just be pulling perimeter detail while they do all the room clearing. I can't speculate too much on these guys jobs cuz they were private contractors and I don't know how much of the military actually still applies as far as regulations goes but I will say as far as a combat, coms, yelling out RPG, yelling out mortars etc. If you ever found yourself in a situation (hypothetical ) where there's mortars get as low to the ground as possible because they blow up and out so there's a better chance of you living if you get as low to the ground as possible and if you can actually find something like a foxhole to crawl into

Such an embarrassing situation for the State Department. This was the epitome of politics getting in the way of supporting our men and women. It's easy to miss, but the quick scene with the two Delta guys saying "We're it, brother" is telling. The government sent two men from one of the most elite military units in the world simply to destroy sensitive information. If they could get two guys there, they could have gotten an entire team there, but the didn't. Absolutely pathetic how we abandoned those men. Kris “Tanto” Paranto also has a podcast that he co-hosts with a friend, called Battleline Podcast, it can be found here on KZbin and on Spotify as well. It’s named after his company “Battleline Tactical” where he hold’s tactical firearm training to Military, police, and civilians. He’s had on a CIA targeter named Sarah Adams, who is to this day hunting down those responsible for the attack and she worked with Dave “Boone” Benton to create a book called “Know thy enemy”where they expose the identities of those individuals. Also, quite funny about the gun courses he holds, seeing as in the movie he’s so conscious about gun safety and guns being pointed at him 😂

Deposing Ghadafi turned Libya from a country with 95% litteracy rate to a failed state. The only reason international coalition did that was because France was afraid to lose financial influence in northern Africa as Ghadafi was trying to convince other north african countries to create common currency based on gold standard.

Its so sad that when I see people watching his that no one has any clue who David Giuntoli is, I'm waiting for the day someone recognises him! Grimm is a must see show and its a fav since it came out. every year I watch every season multiple times, not even joking. Even if u dont do reaction videos to it, its such a good binge with a partner, staying inside, order a pizza and get snacks and use up ur whole Saturday getting through season 1 and keep doing a season a week and you'll be done in just over a month!

Ames, some things to understand about this. The reason that Libya was a failed state is because the US (under Obama, but pushed mainly by then Sec. State Hillary Clinton so she could get her "war" bona fides before her future presidential run), along with the Brits and French, caused the overthrow of the Gaddafi government in Libya under false pretenses (sound familiar?). That caused a power vacuum resulting in competing factions battling for power. That threw the country into chaos. As a result, still a dozen years later the country is still in chaos and there still exist actual open-air slave markets today since that time. What a great legacy for Obama, the first black US president (who I voted for the first time). The ambassador went to the same school as me and I had met him previous to his death (obviously). The political leaders that caused this (Obama, Clinton, others, and I include the idiots in Congress regardless of party who were also pushing Obama into action because he was actually trying to avoid it, I'll give him that) are the absolute worst of humanity. If there is a hell, I can only hope that there will be an accounting for those ghouls.

There’s certainly some dramatization in this movie, but I believe there’s much less than most think. For instance, the scene where John Krasinski’s character, Jack Silva, momentarily lost his contact actually happened. The survivors were actually consultants during filming.

The KPV heavy machine gun fires a 14.5 mm round. Usually mounted on tanks or Armored Fighting Vehicles like the the BMP series. Now there was a infantry model that was produced up till 1960. The vehicle they are in would be turned into swiss cheese. If the two characters decided to fight it out in the beginning.

"Bob" was massively incompetent. He severely underestimated how bad it was until their own annex was under attack. All of the GRS guys hated him but for the sake of respecting his anonymity (as well as "Jack Da Silva" who Krasinski portrayed) they just called him "Bob." Oh, and the reason why the stand down order was given, so the rumors go, is that the Obama Admin was trying to cover up the fact that they were selling Gaddafi's weaponry to Syria (for the rebels)...which ended up in the hands of ISIS there.
