this cleared my doubts about this range of Holden vehicles. very interesting!

You can swap the tailgates over, the only difference is the bottom corners of the tailgate on a vz wagon are rounded vs the square corners on an addy, and the light corners are different but if you cut the corners off the addy tailgate it'll fit a wagon, just done it to mine. The addy has alot more wires and the wiper controll module to deal with for a swap to commodore. Also the spoilers are not interchangeable as the centre peg is about 20mm off between them. The wiper arm is also different, other than that most of the internals are the same.

The roof rails are bolted on with 4 bolts spaced well along the underside. Three bolts go under the three points on the black rail (the front, middle at the C pillar, and rear), the fourth bolt attaches to an under set of rails right at the front, under the plastic pieces. The Adventra was built off Commodore wagon unibodies, all panels except the bumpers and tailgate are the same, just modified to take the flares. The interior is completely identical to the sedans in the front and wagons in the rear. The leather wagon seats are, I think, unique, but bolt to the same mounts as standard wagon mounts.

Cheers for your insight good to know roof rails are well attached I guess - never heard of them coming off but always did wonder.

The LX6 / LX8 seats have a calais base, and SS uprights with side bolsters. The Adventra steering wheels is also slightly thicker.

The exterior door moldings crack due to the fact that the urethane adhesive shrinks at a different rate than the plastic molding...other styles of Commodore door moldings are also affected by this problem.
@AllTerrainAction3 жыл бұрын
thanks for the feedback, we did learn shortly after other commodores who used similar style moldings were effected!

Silly question but how are the factory sound systems in the LX range adventras?
@AllTerrainAction Жыл бұрын
Reasonable, quick hack to make the subwoofer deeper and nicer crisp sound is to pull factory trimming off, adjust factory amp gain to full then dial back a smidge and put back together sounds very reasonable then after that. Very noticeable difference for 20-30mins of your time. For trim removal, pull 4 screws at bottom plastic, then 1 side screw and 2 of those plastic clips, once trim is off remove 10mm bolts and mm over trim to the side, remove all 10mm subwoofer bolts once sub is out reach behind and around to the right and you'll feel a small amp, on that amp dial the gain and test a nice track you'll thank me. Reverse to put all back together. Enjoy

The side trims were on other models. They too always cracked. They weren’t on all though. Early VZ got them. Later ones not. VY had them.

I do recall seeing other models having these as well, thanks for your feedback.

Gauge pods are not unique to Adventra.
@AllTerrainAction3 жыл бұрын
Which other models has the same pod gauges, interested to know as that part may be interchangeable in the Adventra (often commodore parts cheaper than Adventra advertised parts) so would be great to know!
@FuManchu5ltr3 жыл бұрын
@@AllTerrainAction Gauge pods were fitted to SS (optional) and Monaro. However I now get what you mean. The particular dimensions of the pod itself fits into the facia trim (also used in Calais and Berlina) which had the storage compartment instead.
@FuManchu5ltr3 жыл бұрын
@@AllTerrainAction Come to think of it, the same might have been fitted to Monaro. I’ll go digging on that one. Either way, hard to get.

@@FuManchu5ltr I think you may be right about Monaro I recall seeing photos in my time.

He asked which ones have the same gauges in the pod, referring to vehicle angles, not the pods which in general you find in the SS or Monaro.
