Hi everyone, I forgot that I posted this video and my apologies for not replying to comments. I eventually found the problem and got it fixed. You wouldn't believe what it was and tge amount of time I spent swapping out this and that. It was two small orings, one on each oil pick up, in the sump. These were dry and hard and not sealing as they should and allowing air to pass and putting aerated oil in the injector rail. Not easy to see on the diagnostics but confirmed by overfilling your sump will oil and then if you see an immediate change in engine performance its a good chance that is your problem. I hope this helps someone, car runs like a dream now.

+Tristan Callanan Hi Tristan, just drop the oil and remove sump cover and gasket. Remove both pick up pipes should be 10mm socket if my memory serves me correct. Replace the orings with specific vitriol type orings not common garden variety. In other words order them from your Holden dealer. They cost about $10-$15 each. When you push the pipes back in they should be a snug tight fit. Put it this way if the oil pick up pipes literally fall out when you undo the 10mm bolt then they are stuffed. One easy test before you go to this trouble is over fill your oil sump. At the high level mark on the bip stick put another 1litre there abouts and take it for a drive. If this fixes it then you know it's your oil pick ups. You have two a low pressure and high pressure one. The high pressure drives the injectors and the low pressure lubricants engine and supplies the turbo. Hope this helps.

+Tristan Callanan Tristan to be honest I would be doing both on them, not just one. You have gone to this effort do both of them. Trust me my turbo blew up because I didn't do both when I should have. Pull them boyh and order the orings for them.

Hey mate your oil pressure gauge seems to be a little low.. if i rev my 4jx1 to 3000rpm my gauge would allmost be 3/4 of the way up..

i have a jakaroo also it just wont start full stop then after ages of winding it over all of a sudden itl go all day but at idol it just cutts of then wull start straight up again seems to me like an electrical falt any help guys would be great thanks heeps

mate id say the seals on your injecters need replacing its a common falt water mixes with diesel casing the white smoke

If it is just a rough idle try spark plugs idle adjustment or throttle cable adjustment if it has them two or possibly fuel pump i would say

Hi Guys I can give you the number of a bloke in Atherton who knows this engine back to front. He can tell any mechanic how to diagnose and fix it. He did this for me. Let me know if you need advice

Hi there, currently own a 3.0 2002 lwb trooper 34K miles (only). It had the recall with fuel going from the injector into the oil reservoir.www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/searches/search.asp It was fixed but after had delayed power with black smoke from exhaust. Eventually it was down to the cat, if the cat is knocked or overheated (which may have occurred with unburnt fuel in it) it causes it to clog up. After fitting a straight exhaust pipe and removing the cat went like a dream. Until 15k later and its now running on 3 cylinders and heading to the Isuzu garage tomorrow for a diagnostics test, £110.....

HI THERE it almost looks like you have got contaminated fuel. That may explain why it falls down in the revs and the white smoke. Id try an additive for the elimination of humidity in the reservoir. :-)) good luck
