Im about to Restore vl commodore v8, is it true they are full of asbestos ?

No that isn’t true. Asbestos was only used in high heat, high friction components such as clutch discs, brake pads/shoes and some engine gaskets. You cannot buy these components now that have been made with asbestos as it’s illegal.

What about the bonnet roof matting? Would that be asbestos?
