Mitch’s street Commodore features a rebuilt factory NIssan RB30 engine boost by a Ford XR6 turbocharger running on regular pump unleaded petrol. The gearbox has been upgraded using an R33 Skyline 5-speed.

Thats exactly the kind of runnign gear i wish i could put in my VL one day. Unsure if a non turbo engien would be a good idea to use though versus a turbo motor from factory.

Nice build What sort of FMIC ? Would love to build a 1989 skyline with a similar setup. An 11 sec car built similar to this would be nice and completely legal and streetable. Great job :-)

pyromaniac1207 the block has grooves machined into it around the bores then o rings are fitted into the grooves and are compressed into the head gasket when the head is torqued , it provides a superior seal

It's also only done with copper head gaskets. These gaskets require re- torqueing quiet frequently. An MLS is much friendlier for the street, no maintenance

RB > Barra all day long... No need to get a custom crank for 1000hp+ and 10000RPM. Like to see that done with a Barra on stock crank... Tell him he's dreaming... You could take the snapped crank straight to the pool room

1000HP RB + 10,000RPM = long ass wait for 5000RPM boost to stop the taxi cutting you off 600HP Barra + 7000RPM = Traffic light hero, because torque all the time

297kw. You don't need to forge a barra for that. Hell you don't need to forge an EL for that. And I'd be worried if you couldn't get that at 15psi and coming on by 3K rpm. Oh and Barra's don't need 10K rpm to hit 1000hp. Can get 1000hp easily enough at 7K on stock crank. Bet it makes more torque too. Even the barra swapped turbowerx VL is getting 1300hp at 7500rpm

mines 350rwkw and it well and truly on boost by 3k its only because its auto with a converter it goesa past 3k quick .. also only 17 psi
