One of the most emotional and powerful scenes ever ! The camera angle from a height as the scene closes . Brilliant writing and acting ! OFAH forever ! 💯❤️❤️❤️

Most beautiful moment in the series where you see exactly how much Del has sacrificed for the little brother he loves more than anything …. And the way Rodney will always need him and consider him home. They always strike a perfect balance between typical sibling bickering and parent/child dependence, and for this moment, it’s utterly heartbreaking as Rodney leaves Del behind. It’s only after this that Del finally puts himself first and finds a family outside of Rodney in Raquel and Damien; he’s done his job and now it’s his turn to be happy.

Every time I rewatch Only Fools and Horses on my Full collection Boxset I also watch thel special features disc with truly fantastic interviews with the Cast and Crew. Apparently the great John Sullivan was a little worried that the Audience didn't laugh at a couple of puns when Del has seen the boy he raised get married and he was reassured "They're not laugjing because they're crying" It's a truly beautiful scene. His boy was growing into a man. So many legendary hysterical moments but many tear jekers too. Del Boy preferred taking a beating to breaking his 2 thousand pound promise to Rodney. Great upload. Lovely Jubbly 👏 👏 👍

The best scene from the show, the most emotional scene and all. ✌️☺️

What’s even better is that the song itself is about when to strike out on your own. Very fitting.

For me, and I know great things did happen after, but for me THIS this was the moment to end on. So powerful, so emotional.

I always think of this scene and the song at the end of occasions like a wedding or funeral. Especially my uncles funeral recently where I was one of the last people to leave the wake, in an empty room of decorated tables and chairs and left over food

That scene still hits very hard, I remember every line and mannerism so well and yet I can't help but shed a tear. Rodney is potentially outgrowing Del at this point but if anything you feel that increases the intensity of the bond between them as Del always wanted the best for Rodney. It's sad that the old partnership seems to be drawing to a close but so heart warming to witness to love between them too. Incredible stuff.

This scene is an absolute masterpiece of writing. The way it changes from comedic to sadness without even realising is genius This is the moment when Del realises Rodney had become a man and he finally had to let him go, and the way he lifts the groom off the wedding cake Its utterly breathtaking writing

It’s in this moment where you realise just how much Del really loves and cares for Rodney.

I remember the first time i ever saw that scene i was blown away. I had never seen anything like that in a sitcom before While there were many funny sitcoms very few of them had mixed comedy with poignant moments up until this. Then later sitcoms like One Foot in the Grave successfully did this too.

Always remmeber this scene as a kid. It was quite brilliant. A funny comedy gets to you, just like the ending of blackadder

If the show had ended on this moment, I don’t think anyone would have complained.

Probably the best non-comedy scene in the entire series. Incredibly poignant and a bit of a gut-punch when you’ve been watching since episode one.
