This is way better than the other methods I saw where you screw on a piece of scrap wood over the hole to have something for the arbor. Nice.
@kundetjenesten8 ай бұрын
Especially if you drill metal
@bhamsoxfan727 ай бұрын
That wouldn't work as well because you're drilling\sawing "blind" (you don't know exactly where the hole underneath is doing to be). However, if you drilled the correct size hole in the scrap first, then held the scrap over the actual workpiece, you can take the pilot bit out of the arbor and the scrap piece will keep your hole saw bit in the correct position. Alternatively, I just saw one where the guy took the round scrap he had just drilled and put it halfway on the pilot bit, then the round scrap would stay in the hole until the bigger hole saw bit got started.

It blows my mind how many people in construction don’t know this. That is literally the reason that hole saws get shallower the wider they get, so the size down from it can be used as a pilot bit if required.

this wont work on a lot of arbors, a tip/trick shouldnt depend on what brand or what kind of arbor you have for your hole saw. Sorry but bad tip.

why are you pushing so hard bro
@geraldo4004 Жыл бұрын
Only works if arbor got enough threads. Otherwise ya screwed. Go full speed. Line it up and lean in easy till it bites.... Or use a pipe or something
