Simon Groom and John Hutchinson present coverage of the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford in 1987.
Warning: outbreak of sexism at 11:56. The context for the interview at 14:18 was the restoration of an airworthy Bristol Blenheim, which first flew in May but then crashed at an airshow in Denham on 21 June.
The appearance of Frecce Tricolori (from 57:17) is poignant as the display team was involved in the Ramstein disaster a year later; Captain Ivo Nutarelli was the solo pilot on that occasion and was killed.
Transmitted 9 August 1987. Preceded by a trail for that night's programmes. Sadly the end titles are curtailed.
