Hi Rob,Bought "El Mirage" back when it came out 1977? Probably Jimmy Webb's best and most consistent album.Saw him live in a little venue about 15 years ago.He told some wonderful stories about his songs and artists he'd written for and produced.Good video again Rob-enjoyed it,Ian

The Pop looked interesting, and anything with a Stooges feel I am all in Rob. Even if it has a Cars feel I’m good. Need to check them out

Cheers Steve I think The Pop Album is definitely more Cars than Stooges.

Love the New Forest. Hate going into record shops where the vinyl is mainly new. So depressing. Nice Jeff A pick up. Love the Lizzy cover. One of my favourite live bands I’ve seen. Cheers Rob ,Chris

Cheers Chris. Think I fudged the Lizzy artist's name..I think its' actually Jim Fitzpatrick. Yes, the New Forest is a wonderful place to escape to. Hope you're keeping well mate 👍

Hi Rob, Glad you managed to have a nice break and a few ales in the New Forest. LA Turnaround is great and might be my favourite Bert Jansch album. I haven't heard the follow-up album. I'll try and find the documentary, thanks for the heads-up. Cheers Dale

Hi Dale I think its' just called Bert Jansch Documentary for LA Turnaround.

Hi Rob, glad you had a good break I had a very nice holiday in that area about 5 years ago. Interesting selection of albums there mate although I have to say I don’t own a single one of them! Please beware there seems to be an invisible force in operation that is preventing you from showing the rear of any album covers for longer than approximately half a second - they just flip straight back round 😂 Take care cheers

@@Stuck_in_the_70s Ha ha!..I have an affliction..I really can't multi task..that includes talking ad lib and flipping album sleeves at the same time!..just ask my mother..it drives her insane!. thanks for watching Jamie.

The haze has disappeared thankfully - so now we can see you in all your glory! Love the Jefferson Airplane (and the early Starship - no not We Built This City 🤮). Crown is a great album but my favourite is probably Bathing At Baxters. I never see originals of Bert Jansch's albums (except the sampler) - ended up buying the first two Earth Records box sets, but would buy the originals if I ever saw them - the Earth boxsets are spoilt by not having the original covers. Will check out the documentary. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Hi Pete Yes, no ethereal white light this time!. I agree with the Bert Jansch Earth reissues, some are original sleeves, some that old engraving style with alternative colours which is a bit of an odd thing to do, but I guess its' for the completists who perhaps have the originals??. Some of his 70s albums are tough to come by particularly ones like Rosemary Lane and Moonshine. I need Bathing At Baxters..I quite often see Jefferson Airplane albums but the condition isn't always great. Thanks for checking in, hope you're keeping well.

Evening Rob. I've literally never heard of Ultra Vivid Scene....most curious! I don't have any Jefferson Airplane in the collection, either on vinyl or CD. I finally got round to streaming 'Surrealistic Pillow' earlier this year and it seemed pretty OK. I'll check out Peggy's version of 'I'm Not In Love'. I'm a big fan of Jimmy Webb's seventies albums and they were still pretty good into the early eighties. Mirage is a nice album though a bit smoothed over compared to the earlier stuff. You can't beat George Martin's orchestrations in any context though. Cheers, James

Hi James. I knew of Ultra Vivid Scene via The Pixies connection with Kim Deal, they're kind of not how I remember them though..thought they were more shoegaze..heavily chorused guitar sound, but less so as it happens..some decent t songs but they're not essential. Yes, really enjoyed Mirage, some wonderful arrangements, reminiscent of Glen Campbell.

Sounds like a good break. Ales usually feature in my holidays too! I have that Jim Webb album and the arrangements are lovely. Songs are fine too of course. I can’t quite make up my mind about Jefferson Airplane. I have a few on CD but rarely reach for them. I much prefer the Grateful Dead. You must have quite an impressive Bert Jansch collection by now. Take care, John.

Hi John Aye, the ales are always welcome on holiday! Kinda hoped the Jimmy Webb album would be decent, I wasn't dissapointed. I like Jefferson Airplane but generally prefer the Grace Slick songs. Still a lot to go with Bert, particularly his later 80s and 90s albums...getting there!. All the best. Rob.

I totally remembered the name Ultra vivid scene but none of their records. Peggy Lee go for it she must have tons of albums all easily available doesn't matter they are not valuable still makes it an interesting challenge. I always pick up all sorts as you well know with not much value.
@robison5396 Жыл бұрын
Hi Martin I never collect vinyl for the value, if I don't like the music, I don't buy it, simple as. I love Peggy Lees' vocals, she can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned...doubt I'll ever collect her entire discography, but you never know!. Hope you're keeping well.
