Jan you are such a breath of fresh air! I love your humbleness, your simple pleasures in life, your “down to earthiness”, just couldn’t better than that! My mama will be 95 this next June-an old Ky, no nonsense kind of a gal that has the biggest kind & generous heart of anybody I’ve ever met! You have soooo many of her qualities! God bless you & your family-you are a precious jewel with a heart of gold❤️

Thank you for the hint about draining the cherries, several times. It helps so much to actually see some one do it, instead of just reading a written recipe. Usually the recipes sound like you have to have so much special equipment. You showed how to do it in your home kitchen!

I recently made the peanut butter one recently for my grandson who was about to leave for boot camp after joining tje army.

After draining the cherries put into a bowl then sprinkle on 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and shake the bowl to cover the cherries. Add a little more powdered sugar to cover do the same again. This helps with the dough adhering to the cherry.

Yay, Jan! I was busy all day baking and doing Christmas candies because there is flu/illness in the family and I wanted to get it done while I was still well. Wish I'd seen this before because I'd totally have tried this! This video is definitely getting saved to do soon! My daughter loves choc covered cherries and there is a jar of organic-y type marschino cherries in the pantry just waiting to be used. I know she'll flip over this. Those Wilton dipping tools are good for things like basic balls or stuff that you can't handle easily like the stem on these cherries. You made these candies look easy enough for me to do them. Thank you! I hope the virus passes me by and that I'll be making them soon.
@Stinkerlicious8 жыл бұрын
I hope you get to make these. They are so delicious! I tried the dipping tool on another candy I made and it worked great and made dipping time go a lot faster. I hope the virus passes you by too! Thank you so much for watching. :)

I've been looking for a recipe for chocolate covered cherries and I think your vanilla coffee creamer is brilliant!!! I'm gonna try your recipe this year, 2020. I froze my own cherries this summer for just this moment. I've always wanted to make these but never knew how! Store brands are okay but nothing beats homemade! I make an assortment of goodies to give to my neighbors & friends. I liked the cute idea of putting them in papers!! Thank you Jan for sharing your wisdom! Merry Christmas!!❤

I always associated a combination of three candies with Christmas--putting candy canes aside--chocolate covered cherries, raspberry jelly rings and after eight dinner mints--sometimes substituted by peppermint patty's--you have so much patience to make homemade--you used big good quality cherries yum!!

Jan, try spraying the spoon w/ Pam and then the corn syrup will release easier. Works in measuring cups too. ( honey or other syrups release easier as well). I wonder if a baking screen rack might help so you can drizzle choc over and catch the extra below on parchment to be used again. Enuf drizzled over should flow to the bottom of each cherry to be placed over to dry? Those finished cherries look so yummy!
