My mom loved chocolate covered cherries. She passed last year.😢 When I was at a loss of what to get her for Christmas. She would say" Well sister you know I love them chocolate covered cherries a box of them sure make happy" She didn't drive or go alot of places in her last y ears. Plus she had diabetes. So it was a big deal for her to get a box of chocolate cherries I'm going to make these cherries this year in honor of her. Love ya much sweet lady THANKS

Chocolate covered cherries were my favorite candy for years. I worked at Russell Stover Candies on my 20's . We had a department where chocolate cherries were hand dipped.

My first step dad loved chocolate covered cherries. He keep a box just about everywhere, in the car at work, at home. Ellen also was a huge fan of dentine cinnamon gum. He always keep packs in the car and we always get gum when with him. But he loved his chocolate cherries. I might try this some time this winter.

I woke up having a diabetic insulin reaction. The brain doesn’t function properly during those episodes and I picked up my phone to see the notification for this video. It literally reminded me we had some chocolate covered cherries which I used to bring my sugars up so I was coherent again. As odd as this may sound, the timing of this video just saved my life. OMG! These remind me of a recipe for chocolate fondant cherries in the 1970 Farm Journal Christmas book my Mum had! I used to look at it all year round as a little boy in the States (I was and still am a Christmas obsessive!) and always wanted to make them. Loved your video. I have been making these since I was 15 and now I am 73. I only use dipping chocolate and I never use the stems.I dip them with tooth picks I like the idea of adding some cherry juice to the fondant, I will try that this year. I also use the fondant and add peanut butter to make buckeyes or add coconut to make bon bons. I also use candy papers for all my candies., they make them so pretty. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for the fondant recipe. I didn't use it for chocolate covered cherries, I made the fondant a little softer and filled some chocolate with it. It's creamy and delicious. I used it also for orange cream filled chocolate (orange flavored fondant) with a little piece of orange peel candy inside. Dominique

ty for this recipe , its funny how ur dad used to give ur mom them for christmas, i myself dont like them , but they are my husbands favorite , i too give him a box every year , i made some about 30 yrs ago , and like u said , to let them sit for a few weeks to turn to liquid as he prefers them that way .... and after about 3 weeks , i checked on them to see how they were doing , when i opened the container , there was 3 left .. when i had made about 4 dozen for him , i was like wth...... guess he liked em , when i asked him about it , he just smiled at me .... and walked away ..... so this video , def brought back memories for me , i will def be making these as these seem alot easier then the ones i made yrs ago !!! ty for sharing this !!!

I used to make these many years ago. Forgot how over the many years.. I think I might try them again. I had the cherry plastic molds. I think I still have the molds?? Made other kinds of candy also. I painted the inside of the mold with Chocolate. Then put in the fondant filling with the cherry. Then covered it with Chocolate which was the bottom. Love your Channel!! Watch it all the time!! Definite thumbs up for this recipe!! These will be beautiful in my Christmas gift baskets. I'll dip some in white chocolate, too. Maybe even use some green cherries! Somehow I thought you were going to bake the dough wrapped cherries before dipping them. ? When you cut it open, it looked so good and really appetizing. They are so pretty! 😊 I think cherries are under appreciated!
