There's nothing sweeter than homemade baked goods during the holidays. Justin Reid of the Houston Texans shares his recipe for Pumpkin Spice Cookies, with a gooey glaze.
Justin Reid's Pumpkin Spice Cookies
Ingredients:
2.5 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup pumpkin puree
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup butter
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Grease baking sheets.
3. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a bowl.
4. Beat sugar and butter in a large mixing bowl until well blended. Beat in pumpkin, egg and vanilla until smooth.
5. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
6. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets.
7. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until edges are firm. Cool on a baking sheet for 2 minutes. Drizzle glaze on top.
