I never used to believe in decorating before Thanksgiving and then a few years ago, we were in the UK in early November when we noticed all kinds of Xmas decorations everywhere. Quickly realized, duh! The rest of the world doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving so it’s already the Christmas season. Ever since, my husband whips out the lights the day after Halloween. So much better!

You do you, that's what we all should worry about, doing what's best for ourselves and our families and not worry about others business uninvited. I just want to mention, Thanksgiving and the fall season isnt just about pilgrims and Indians having dinner, its about celebrating the harvest and the bounty of the growing season and transitioning to a time of a kind of hibernation for those that live in those kind of climates and those that have that kind of history. Celebrations at the turn of a season are much older and spread much further in time and cultures than the pilgrim and indian Thanksgiving and the decor is symbolic of the turn of the season and reflects the natural world around you. I personally think Thanksgiving and Christmas are uniquely different and deserve distinction and celebration, but no else has to see it that way.

Waylon being "all up in the business" made my day. We love a fluff cameo. And I totally feel you - simple doesn't mean minimal! I'm jewish so I do a lot of wintery decor. Tinsel trees, gnomes, cute blankets. It's simple but makes me 10x happier.

Your basement is cozy and welcoming. It’s a space where your guests can hangout and “just be.” The guys can hangout, watch the game, have a glass a wine, cocktail and snacks, while, like usual, the women are upstairs talking and being loud while we drink our cocktail. You have a beautiful home.

I think it’s nice to mix things up and do different decor when the mood strikes! Sparse garland this year and maybe gorgeous swags of Frontline garland along the bannister next year or the year after! Who knows and who should even care? Every year can be different, unique and equally gorgeous! But it’s perfectly lovely to do the same things too! To each their own! I love the entryway making such a glorious statement right as you enter. A little winter wonderland full of Christmas greeting everyone! I particularly like the pop of muted blue on your dining room tree that works perfectly with the drapes and accent pillows! Fabulous! If you remember where you got them, they would be perfect for one of my trees... and/or garlands! I also collect tabletop trees, so I’m all about your collection on the sideboard! We’ve been doing our Xmas decorating mid November for the last 9-10 years and I LOVE it! I want to enjoy it as long as possible and honestly I think having Thanksgiving surrounded by the glow of Xmas trees is the coziest thing! We have several full size in our home and some don’t even have ornaments on them, but they add an ambiance I love. I really wanted to do November 1st this year but we didn’t have time, next year though 👌🏻 I do like garland but I think your entry way is stunning and doesn’t need it at all.
