I have always gotten the impression that holiday collections are geared towards gifts for people who are just getting into makeup and trying things. Or for the people who only buy makeup once or twice a year, but it isn't something they are super into.

The kvd palette is one of my faves and I bought a backup it is stunning and its sad because it was not noticed. Its the palette I bought for my daughters this year on sale as they still have it. Ots so everyday and yet can be amped up for night. The textures of the kvd shadows is effortless.

That KVD palette is one of my favorites. Every time I use it, my eyelook turns out so so pretty. The Charlotte Tilburry holiday eyeshadow palettes are some of my favorite to buy for the holiday season. They are such Bank for your buck compared to her quads.The quality is great and they are very glamorous for sure.

I have the KVD Edge of reality pallet and adore playing with the metallics, but definitely haven't heard many people talking about it so can understand why people forgot about it.

I've only seen 4 people reviews and all of them loved the metallics but they didn't agree about the mattes 😀 I sometimes regret not getting it, but when I swatched it in Sephora, I didn't get the feels like I did with the older palettes 🙂

I have the KVD Edge of Reality pallette. I still love it! 😁. It has these 2 super pretty special effects shades that you can use alone or put on top of the other colors. Gorgeous!

I loved the big Pat McGrath palette from last year. It was my first foray into luxury eyeshadows, and the colors are really beautiful. I bought this year's release bc it filled some gaps in my collection and I've loved the looks I've seen others do online. I've also just started working in an office for the first time, so the more neutral shades will let me feel sparkly and fun while still being "office appropriate." : )

I will say that for the hourglass palettes, I run through them in 1-2 years and want to purchase the next holiday palette to restock :) so for me, I love their holiday palettes being similar every year. Also glad that they are going down the road of making light and deep versions of them so more folks can enjoy these every year.

PMG Celestial Divinity is one of my favorite palettes ever 😊 It goes super well with BH Naughty from last year, the mattes from that plus the shimmers from CD are perfect together.

I also salivated over the ND Triochrome palette all year and pounced the minute I saw that 40% off sale. I can’t wait until it finally arrives. I’m super into the chartreuse color row and love how matte heavy it was. I won’t spend $130 for a palette, sorry. Especially with the economy right now.

I have that KVD palette and it’s stunning. The shimmers are so interesting in person. I also bought the Pat McGrath Celestial Divinity palette from this year cause last years was a bit too purple heavy for me. And I love it! Pat is more a brand that you should wait for or get the color scheme that you like the best rather then collect it all.

I have both of the Pat M palettes and I don’t think they are at all the same. I honestly like last years better because it had a few duochromes. I felt they were both equally exciting though. I hope if she does the big palette again, she chooses to go with more shades like the last year one versus this one. Me, I’m totally ok with all shimmer palettes. I have mattes for days. But, it’s the shimmers that excite me.

Pat's big palette was my first purchase from her and I actually enjoy it more than the other Mothership palette I own. There is something special about those shimmers, they can be blended sooo easily and the color scheme overall makes me to go outside my comfort zone. This years' palette is a pass for me. It's more neutral with only 2 interesting shades. I'm sure the quality is there, but if I'm only interested in this palette because those greenish shades, not because it makes great story, I can't justify the price.

Same for me - love last year’s PMG holiday palette…except I was excited enough for this year’s to order it (though still waited for the Black Friday deal to do so, both this year and last 😉). Just love having all of those shimmer options. I have enough mattes in my collection to pair with them. Definitely don’t get excited about the Mothership palettes in the same way. They feel so repetitive and I can get “special” shades in singles that I like even better from indie brands.

I find it interesting how cyclical a person's beauty journey can be. When I first started watching your channel, I almost exclusively used mattes. I was also tentatively branching out from muted tones, for more neon, pastel or brights. Now though, more and more, I find myself enjoying all (or mostly) shimmer looks and I'm back to muted tones, but with a pop of neon or brights. I'm sure I'll head back towards all matte in the future 🤔 It has helped me cull and refine my collection, so I'm just going with my own flow and seeing what I'll like going forward ☺

Same here! I wore drug store palettes for forever… it was all that I knew… until I stopped being able to find the wine red shades I always wore and generally got bored. Since I started watching Angie’s channel and other KZbinrs, I started finding deep rich mattes that were pretty sparse back then and appreciating more shades including greens and blues, I went through a rainbow phase (for the deep, vibrant mattes). I learned to use neons and pastels. I dabbled into smokey and cool toned looks… not my fav although I did learn to appreciate all matte looks. Now, I am going through a glitter sparkle phase (though still not a fan of pressed glitters). And, I find myself yearning for more muted but not cool or boring colors. These seem rare and expensive - although I did jump on the new Bled Bunny Surge palette… I hope it’ll hold me for a while.

I can definitely relate to the both of you. I guess, makeup preferences evolve just like the personal fashion style does. I wouldn't say it's a circle like fashion trends tend to be, but more of a tree stem that grows more and more branches as we grow older, thus the reservoir of styles we know increases and we get to pick from the old and new to create our own current style. :)

YES! thank you! It's a trio of chrome shadows!!! It drove me crazy that people were complaining that they weren't triochromes (as in didn't change to 3 colours) but that's not what it was about 😉

Thank you for this. I didn’t spend too much on makeup this holiday season. I looked through my shadow collection and already started to see some palettes I bought last year feel old. As women, we should also encourage each other to invest our money wisely. I love the PMG mega palettes but I would love some more colorful mattes in them. Moving forward Im passing on her quads though, they are redundant.

Not much people reviewed the KVD palette but Sophdoeslife reviewed it and said the shimmers were great. I bought the Hourglass palette this year and I think it's a great way to try alot of their products at once. I bought the new Pat McGrath palette during this Black Friday so hopefully it's great! I feel this year's palette was more wearable and I love shimmers, I think I pay more for shimmers than mattes.

I LOVE the KVD palettes that I’ve tried!! They are very surprisingly underrated, and I think it’s because no one is trying them because of the negative vibe they get. I didn’t “arrive” at the cosmetics scene until Kat Von D was long gone, and I found a palette on sale at Sephora for $10, so I decided to give it a try, and WOW!!! It was amazing!!!

I enjoyed the Tarte set from last year. I gifted 2 and kept the juicy one. That small pallet is my mauve conscience and stopped me from buying several other similar color stories.

I have the KVD palette and don't even remember the name! Some nice metallic shades though. I admit I liked it better than the Juvia's 6 pans 🤭 Oh and I got the PML large palette last year. I'm on the hunt for amazing metallic fuchsia/violet, and that one is really nice.

I’ve learned my lesson with holiday shopping. I used this time to only purchase things I was looking at for a few months and was still interested. Sometimes though we’re afraid to miss out on things like for example your Club Nebula palette. Really wanted it but no funds available until now so sometimes I understand why persons buy everything fearing to miss out

I got the CT eyes to hypnotize holiday palette last year and I think it was one of the better holiday releases, bc the shades are something I use all year around. Her shadow quality particularly in the big palettes is wonderful. I do think that in general CT is quite repetitive, so if you have few of her bigger holiday palettes than you don't need to buy them every year.

I prefer the Naughty palette over this year's holiday release from BH. On another note, I just got my Sapphire today and it is hands down the absolute best one of all of their birthstone palettes ^.^ Hopefully the turquoise one will also be pretty but there is no chance it'll upstage Sapphire :))

I got last years hourglass pallet. I literally use it every time i do my makeup. The products make my skin look beautiful. I will say when i run out of it i will get another one, but probably not one with the blushes. I also love my pat mcgrath from last year but i use it as a companion pallet. The shimmers are gorgeous and i use my other pallets as a base and this one as the icing on the cake. I love the colors from this year and will probably get it but i will wait for a good sale. These are the 2 products that i love having in my collection. ❤❤❤

I think the best Halloween release this year was from Nomad. Haunted Europe looks great. I didn't buy it, but I still like it heading in to Christmas. The mirror from Colourpop's Hocus Pocus collection this year was super cute but that is all I wanted from it. The best Christmas release I've seen this year is Auric's duo of the smoke reflects. Those went on my Christmas wishlist.

Like with the Huda Beauty examples, I think that the best special releases are those that aren't tied to the occasions. Hi, Angi!!! The UD Stoned Vibes and the KVD Edge of Reality palettes are very similar in concept and I use them quite often doing the same neutral crease and switching the shimmers to match the OOTD. The BH last year’s holiday palette is great and makes unnecessary the new one for me. I love to use both PMG mega palettes together but I skipped this year’s quads bc I don’t think they are better than last year’s. The ND Triochrome palette is very pretty but I don’t use it vey often…

The BH palette is my fav big palette! I've used it throughout the year. Naughty Nude surprised me -- I bought it on sale on a whim and it's turned out to be one I use the most. The quality is so good and the colour palette great for every day!

I got it on sale not expecting much, didnt see a single vid on it or anything and was so pleasantly surprised! the mattes are a little boring, but they make sense with the shimmers included. This year's PMG holiday palette I do love as it is the first holiday collection I own and use it for a fast wow look for work, I own Mothership VIII and don't get the hype about them. I love Natasha Denona palettes so much more and those are expensive enough. Last year BH Xmas palette is one I still reach often for.

I own tones of colourful eyeshadows with sofhisticated colorways (I love colors everywhere: clothes, interiors etc.), but having small hooded eyes (with mature eyelid) make me love also very simple combinations of max 3 colors plus lately huge love for cool neutrals (which look better on my eye than colourfull combos). So I totally get what similar pallette once a year from a favourite brand can do with people!
