Speaking of Bridgertons, everyone always goes on and on about that "problematic scene" where Daphne practically rapes Simon (even though he never told her to stop), but does anyone remember the scene from Voyager (Outlander #3) where the mother of Jamie's son yells at him to pull out because it was her first time and she was in pain, and Jamie doesn't? This isn't the only reason I very much dislike Jamie, but I just think it's kind of strange that the Bridgerton rape scene (it wasn't rape) gets talked about more than Jamie's rape scene. I think William's mother ended up liking it in the end after she adjusted, but when someone says "stop," not stopping is rape.

I don’t know if you were able to see it but we addressed this issue in The Duke And I live show on Jessica’s channel (peacelovebooksxo) her link is in the description. We were lucky enough to get the author’s statement about this exact scene and getting her prospective on it really was amazing.

Ooh really. To be honest I have not read the Outlander series or seen the show. That sounds terrible for sure. I do know that I am a huge bridgerton fan and will be supporting the show continually.😉

@@bookedforromance Outlander is incredible and if you like historical romance, you’d love it! There’s so much more to it though than just the romance which is why it’s so great. Jamie Fraser is probably the most swooned over male lead in romance, but I don’t like him for many reasons. I really think you’d love it since you love Bridgerton so much. Speaking as a teacher, I can also say that the writing in Outlander is objectively better than Bridgerton.
