When he said “I’m here in Momma’s kitchen” & then when he was wanting to pour the pie into the shell, first he wanted to take the beaters off the mixer & then it was he needed to make sure that they were over a bowl so it didn’t drip everywhere, he too made the comment about tasting with the raw eggs, & burning his face off but you both tasted anyway 🤣! I could just imagine the time that you’ve spent in the kitchen with your boy’s teaching what to do, what not to do, & how it should look when they’re done! In my opinion, you all are very blessed to have such wonderful memories of that time spent together! If more families could or would do what you’ve done, shared that time together, I believe that this world would be a much better place! I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I love you and all your recipes, Paula! After seeing the confusion during this video though, it might be smart to get a quick checkup with a local neurologist. I wouldn’t mention it, but I’m coming from personal experience here. My own mom was a wonderful cook and baker too, then one day I noticed she began making mistakes on recipes she’d been making our whole lives which she usually knew like the back of her hand. Soon after that she was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. We lost her just over a year ago now, and I miss her every single day. You’re too important to your family, friends, and everyone out there who loves you, to not get checked out just to be safe.❤

Mind you they are all as yummy as can be but i feel like mixing things up a bit. In the spirit of things being so upside down i think id like to make some new dishes and make some new traditions. I made this as a PIE this week - and it was OUTSTANDING!! I used a 9" deep dish pie shell and baked for 40 minutes at 350. There will be some filling and topping leftover - so I put in a small dish and made a small casserole

I learned to make this as a newlywed living in Georgia some 45 years ago. Our daughters request it every Thanksgiving. My husband came home from work bragging on the sweet potato casserole he had at a carry in holiday meal at work. We were newlyweds at the time. His boss's wife had made it. I told him to ask his boss for the recipe. He brought the recipe home and the casserole became a yearly tradition for us at Thanksgiving as one of our side dishes.
