Whipping cream is also known as heavy cream, it's cream with 36% fat content and can be whipped up into a thick frosting consistency.

Isn't ist traditional too use the eggwhites for the cream? I never heard of useing whipped cream. Seems rather unusual.

There are recipes out there that uses egg whites but whipped cream is so a very common ingredient to supply the airy texture!
