I always enjoy your vlogs, Gavin and Luke, this was brilliant. Marseilles was a stop on my first cruise, it was lovely to see you tour it. Love how Gavin had a deconstructed cheesecake and Luke had a deconstructed bacon sandwich. Hilarious.

I love Marseille - I find it always gets quite a bad rep, but I spent 5 nights there after World Europa and had a great time. The Cathedral at the top of the hill is beautiful, then a walk out the other end of the city from the cruise port (down the coast) is SO nice if you get decent weather!

Yeah, so many say they don't bother getting off there! We actually enjoyed our day there - a nice little land train thingymabob! :)

My last cruise departed from Marseille and I arrived two days early as I had never visited it before. Unfortunately the weather wasn't as pleasant as it was for you and the small boat trip around the coast turned around five minutes after leaving the marina because the swell was too heavy.

Great vlog, we were on the Norwegian Epic there & their cabins have no bathrooms!! Great tip on getting the tourist train, we’ll do that next time. So pleased to hear that you’re enjoying Virgin, the food at The Wake looked amazing!

No bathrooms? Are they the ones with the in room shower?! 🤪 The train is a nice little thing to try! Loving virgin! Just wish they did a drinks package 🤣

@@CruiseMonkeys Yes, the shower and loo open into the cabin. Your steward could get a shock if they entered and you hadn’t heard door open 😂 It’s probably the one think that let’s Virgin down a little, hopefully they’ll offer a drinks package in the future.

Brilliant liked this vision of virgin ship over your first video making me want to book a cruise on it bur one thing stops me - no kettle in the cabin ! You may say I can get room service but I want boiling water for my morning cuppa you can only get from a boiling kettle. And without having to get dressed to answer the door . Think I would like it though other than that . I hadn’t been to Marseille before my last cruise and found it a lovely place x thanks again for your videos it cheers up a bleak November night xx

This was more our normal day, the first day is always a little crazy! Reach out to virgin on social media and ask if they provide kettles on request! Lots of cruise lines do, worth an ask! Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it 😀

Can’t say we missed the traditional buffet, you can pick as many dishes as you want. The good thing is you don’t end up with a roast, pasta and curry all on one plate like you do when browsing a normal buffet 🤣🤣🤣

Lots of of people don’t get off the ship in this port, but it’s worth a visit! Lots of lovely restaurants and bars in the area too 👍 Enjoy Sun 🥰

Hi guys, did it cost much extra not having drinks package? That’s why we ended up going with celebrity

Depends how much you drink. Beers were around $5-6 and gin and tonics about $9 and cocktails and Wilde $10-15+, we worked out what we’d pay per day or a package and then Purchased bar tabs. We had 4! This is the only negative with virgin is they don’t have a package so it does make budgeting difficult. They do often have bar tab offers on so that’s a good time to book 😀

The food looks lovely, like how you order the sides that you want, but think must be an old fa.ty now because the look of the ship does nothing for me, as I think someone else said, it looks too much Ikea and not enough luxury sparkly
