My daughter has the same hair as you and both of us have noticed all the same things you mentioned in your previous video . We have a whole house water softener too. Also in FL. Thank you for making this video. You are right. Things change. I feel for the better but also hormones change. But it’s really hard to find very fine low porosity hair care products out there. I’ve made a lot of mistakes and spent a lot of money getting the wrong things.

OMG thank you so much for this video. I am in the exact same boat. I used to use most of the products you mentioned with great success until one day they all stopped working too. It hurt me to get rid of so many of them. My hair has become softer, and I too have lost a bit of density as my hair has become healthier. It's been so strange. Yes please do a video on what's been working for you now.

I switched from the MopTop Curly Custard to the MopTop Curl Enhancer Gel, and I’m loving the gel way better. I have healthy (no color treatments or heat styling) hair, low porosity, fine to medium strands, but I have medium to high density hair. My loose waves get weighed down very easily. Definitely try their gel!

I’m really at a loss lately. Since going gray my texture changed from high to low porosity and I can’t get anything to work consistently. Would love more product recs. I have medium density as well as low porosity and my hair is fine and gets weighed down easily. Thanks! 😊

I think we have the exact same hair! All the products that you mentioned do not work for me either. The 3 gels that I rely on the most are AG liquid effects, biogeo gel, and curlsmith shine gel. If I try a new gel that doesn’t have enough hold I always top it with Shine gel. Also I love the curlsmith hairspray!

It’s interesting how much can change over time with our hair, soft vs hard water, and even formulation changes (which has been a huge issue since 2020 and the supply chain issues). Check out Loma Firm Hold Gel, I’d love to hear if it works for your soft hair as well as it does mine.

Even though my hair is soft and low porosity I don't like roughing it up with gritty products. I like the softness.

All of the products that you mentioned that don't work on your hair also don't work on mine.. with the exception of the Trey lux gel which I'm currently using. Yes, it would be very helpful for you to do a video of what's working for you now. Dream gel never worked for me. Neither did the verb mousse...

I love products with aloe. They usually give me a light cast and are not heavy at all. I like the Jessicurl daily conditioner, but it is heavier than I need for every day.

Have you tried Curling Jelly by Curls and Potions? I have to use a leave in with it to soften the hold and add moisture but the hold is INSANE!!
