The band broke up in the mid 90s and the only original member left was Axl who stayed in the band the whole time from what I know. After a lot of talks Slash and Duff (original bassist) rejoined Axl in 2016 for the "Not In This Lifetime tour" which is where these performances are from, so fairly recently. Duff sings a few of Guns' songs and he was the one singing the first song in this video but Axl was still performing in that show on most other songs. They are touring agin this year and in 2021 (if the covid situation improves) if you want to see Axl, Slash and Duff playing live! I saw them in 2017 and it was probably the best day of my life, I would highly recommend checking if they're playing in your city.

Axl never left, he kept the name when he was the only original member. It's called "Not in this Lifetime" because he was interviewed a few years before Slash and Duff the bass player came back and said they would never get back together in his lifetime. Duff is the one singing the song at the beginning

Axl has a 5 (technically 6)octave vocal range. He's gotten old but the man is a God among ALL singers. Axl Rose and Slash are 2 of my all time favorite musicians.

The first song is just their bassist, Duff, singing one of his own songs. The reason Axl has a broken foot in the Mexico clips is cause he fell and broke it during the first show of the reunion tour. Believe it or not, he actually KEPT GOING during that show and broke his foot in five more places that night! He had to get screws in his foot and everything. And yes, the band broke up in the late 90s and Axl went to do his "New Guns N Roses" band with all different musicians, while Slash and Duff and the others formed a band called Velvet Revolver with Scott Weiland (the singer from Stone Temple Pilots). Sadly, however, Scott died of a drug overdose in 2015, but then Axl, Slash, Duff, etc. reunited in 2016 for the Not In This Lifetime tour, and have remained together again since. Axl also briefly filled in for ACDC for a few shows in 2016, cause their main singer needed to recover from ear surgery, at the time. EDIT: oh yeah and the reason they broke up in the late 90s is cause Axl wanted to experiment with modern sounds (electronica and shit like that), while the other guys wanted to keep things old school. I guess Axl eventually outgrew his "experimental" phase.

Axl broke his foot at the first reunion show at the Troubador club in LA and borrowed Dave Grohls “rock throne” to be able to keep playin shows. Axl definitely put on the pounds but his voice has made a huge comeback in the past couple years. He filled in singing for AC/DC for a tour as well while doing NITL guns tour and killed it

Axl never left, he’s been to only member to never leave, it’s his band, duff singing at the start is the bass player of the first five albums, Axl and Slash has a falling out in the 90’s and Axl was getting into a limo and a reporter asked Axl if he’d ever perform with Slash again and Axl said “not in this lifetime” then twenty odd years later they made up and called their global tour “not in this lifetime”

This is approx. 2016-2018 so Axl's voice is a little higher, he is 56 yrs. Old so he's got some miles on his voice, but he can still bring it and give you a show, better than some artists half his age.

The first singer Duff McKagen the bassist and the song "New Rose" was a cover song from the band the Damned. The first true era of GnR songs was Don't Cry written in 85) Axl ( the main singer) was on the chair because of a broken foot. And a side note. The throne Axl is on was loaned to him by Dave Grohl of Nirvana and Foo Fighter fame. And the song Coma was when his was healed.

Axl Rose broke his foot in their first small concert at the Troubador in LA. The seat he is sitting in was Dave Grohl's of Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl fell off stage while on tour in Sweden and broke his leg/ankle. They stopped the show for about 30 minutes, but Dave Grohl finished the show sitting in a chair with a medic by him. He then had surgery, and while high on the anesthesia, he dreamed up the throne you see Axl sitting in. Foo Fighters used it on their tour for Dave (you can find tons of videos of it on KZbin). A few years later, when Axl broke his foot, the band reached out to Dave Grohl to borrow it. I think now, 3-4 other bands have borrowed this "throne" as well.

The band falled apart in between 1994 and 1995, but Axl has always remained part of the band, he was the only original member since the break up to the reunion in 2016, its just that some songs are sung by Duff(the bass player), some were sung by Izzy(original rythm guitar, not part of the reunion) and most songs are sung by Axl and yes, he broke his foot after the first show of the reunion, he was so excited he jumped and made a bad landing. The shows where he is walking are after the broken foot ones

Bassist Duff has always wrote and sang some of their songs. During the live shows, they also always highlight each band member for a lengthy solo. Duff pops in every few to sing to let All rest backstage...they've done that since their club days. Duff's songs remain punk influenced. They are a nice way to break up some of the lengthy songs in the set as well. On this Not in This Lifetime tour...the sets run about 26 songs and they clock in at about 3 and a half hours. They don't really stop.... When the tour legs for this year that got postponed roll through next year, you should---no, need to... check them out live. Best show you'll see. :)

The tickets to the event we like $11, same as they cost back in the day, and the place only holds a few hundred people. He broke his foot, and many thought he would not tour after. They went on to play Coachella, with Axl playing on his "throne".

In 1996 Slash left the band officially even though they hadn’t even talked since the Use Your Illusion Tour ended in 1993. Duff Mckagen (bass player who sung the first song) left with Matt Sorum (the drummer at the time) left shortly after. They couldn’t put up with Axl and his wild emotions. Axl started GNR back up in 2000 and has had a revolving door of band members since. Then in 2016 Slash and Duff joined back making them the only original members in the band. They’ve toured ever since. Also Axl sung in AC/DC in 2016 if you’d like to check some of that out. He replaced Brian Johnson temporarily because of hearing problems. He had surgery and spent the first couple months of the Tour in that throne you see here for the shows. Finally he healed up ofcourse and the rest of the tour went off without a hitch. Axl got power mad, forcing the others to sign the rights of the band to him, the others left and axl and slash had a big feud where they had no communication at all for over 20 years, in 2009 slash tried to get back with axl but axl came out and said slash was a cancer, just after slash lost his mum to cancer which sparked it all off again, but in 2016 they reformed, when a reporter asked were the rumours true, axl replied ‘Not in this lifetime’ hence the name of the tour.

Axl bought the rights to the name “Guns n Roses”, so he took his own guys and toured with them, but they sucked compared to the original group. Then in 2015/2016, Duff, Axl, and Slash had a meeting at some point, prolly in Hollywood, made amends, and then reunited with the drummer and guitar player from axls other version, and had their first concert back together at the troubador in 2016. It was the first time axl and Slash had been on stage in like 20 years. They have been touring since and rumor has it they are in the making of a new record cuz COVID gave lots of musicians time to write music. Especially GNR, since they have been apart for so long, the amount of music they have been sitting on for this time is prolly insane

Duff is singing Punk cover tunes from their cover album “The Spaghetti Incident?” Axl never left GnR he did form a version of “New Guns” and recorded multiple records with them though only one has been released “Chinese Democracy” in 2008. Duff, Slash, and Matt Sorum did form a new group after their GnR departure called Velvet Revolver and it was fronted by Scott Weiland of STP. I think that’s what confused you about GnR being fronted by a second singer. But Guns has always been fronted by Axl.
