I grew up in Holland during the 1950s and 60s. All the ways that my hometown has grown makes me smile and feel proud. The update of so much of the city takes my breath away. I remember the old Civic Center and the swampy wetlands that are now a beautiful garden with amazing windmill. Wow. I also remember the old Centennial Park with the fountain which was kinda of an eyesore now made into a wonderful place right there in the center of town almost like Central Park in NewYorkCity. However the sweet small town feel remains. I lived in Grand Rapids for a number of years until a diagnosis and a divorce and an empty nest forced me to make a drastic decision for my future. My illness proved to me that I can no longer endure the harsh winter weather of West Michigan. I now live in Monterey on the central coast of California. I’ve been here for over twenty years now. As I get older and older my thoughts turn back to those early days in Holland. They are fond memories of tulip lanes and yes, I was a Dutch dancer in the late 60s . Hahaha good times As I am approaching the end of my life it is with pride and joy that I reach back to my little hometown there on the shores of Lake Michigan Holland will always have a warm spot in my heart I love you Holland……then, now, and ALWAYS. Nicholas Rogers to each their own I’m a holland native myself it’s a great place to grow up and raise and family .. I’ve moved away from here multiple times to North Carolina, Florida and San Diego came back to holland every time

Holland is a name given to an area settled by people from Holland, so no you are wrong, Ms. Singapore from Asia. Your Woke movement does NOT respect history or peoples or and in fact makes it impossible to tell history accurately.
