you can also loosen the lower fuel bowl screw and drain gas into a spray paint cap.

That’s a great tip. I have started doing that in my recent videos

Sir, do I use carb cleaner to clean out metering circuit once out and re tune the mixture screw after? Thank you for the video
@SmackeysGarage3 жыл бұрын
Yes. I use carburetor cleaner on pretty much the entire carb and wipe it down. You should avoid getting it on plastic or other materials. I do remove the mixture screws and clean them. The plastic heads do pull off on my model of carb. Then put all settings back to original. I have a video coming out today going more in depth in the entire process.

I've heard to use white Lithium or super lube on the power valve seal to keep it from tearing the paper gasket. No? I'm about to swap mine and just want to avoid screwing it up

I’ve never heard of that. If you do I would make sure you don’t use much. I’ve never had issues with my gaskets tearing when installing to the right torque.

I thought you had to drop the metering block several times off the front of the carb, messing up the gasket for realign ment , I never seen anyone just put one on like that.

The metering block has two pins on the bottom corner right on the inside of where the screws go. This holds it in place on the main body. Maybe Holley made it easier on the later carburetors.

Good idea to just use a socket by hand. I used a wrench once and overtightened it and stripped it on a 4160 Holley.

I think we have all been there. Live and learn.
