Adjusting the beam height without measuring equipment; by eye, on a wall or garage door, is a bit of a estimating process. Like that your beam focal points, *looks* low. While driving at night becomes the real test.

I love retrobright lights! I have them on my 67 bug and just ordered one for my road king. It is literally a night and day difference from a sealed beam.

They make a 4537 aircraft landing lamp with massive candlepower. They fit right in where original bulbs go, but the draw some current so run them off relay. The are for the 4 lamp round style

I'm not going to say yikes about the price because bright lights save lives, and that is no joke. The brighter, the better. I have the perfect headlight aiming spot on a building in town. Flat and level with checkerboard trim on the side. Makes it easy to adjust.

Thanks, Lucky. I've been scouting around for the right headlights to use in a project I'm considering. Sometimes old-looking headlights just suit the look, but I grew up with those lights and they were barely adequate back then.

I installed a set (4) on my ‘64 Galaxie . Low beam …. Good , high beams really bright and down the road where I want them . Sometimes you you have to go with the pricey . These properly fit the Ford shells . I had previously purchased a set from another outfit that were supposed to fit , but they lied . Rear finned shell of lamps were too deep .

those are really nice and stock looking but they are soooo expensive

These new Holly, LED replacement “sealed” headlight bulbs for old school cars that require them are a total no-brainer. While their initial cost is high, Holly says they last six times longer than incandescent sealed beams. That means you can either buy 1 LED bulb or 6 incandescent bulbs for approximately the same amount of money. The new ones only need to be installed once, and because of their vastly increased light output, you’ll be able to drive at night with the same confidence as those driving modern vehicles. As you’d expect from Holly, they’re SAE, DOT, and California compliant. So as long as they’re properly adjusted, you can be confident you’re not blinding oncoming traffic… as long as you remember to turn off the highbeams. They come with a two-year warranty as well. I don’t work for Holly. I received no compensation for writing this. I don’t even own a pair. Everything came directly off of Holly’s website. If they were made by a company I never heard of or had no history with, I never would’ve bothered to write this. I know how important it is to see at night while driving.

Lucky, the bulb is the thing inside the shell that lights up, the outside shell is called the lamp. The more you know.
@AlexGerald-s4mАй бұрын
Usually yes, but what Lucky is working with is called a “Sealed Beam’” headlight, which (correct me if I am wrong) you can not remove the bulbs from, it’s all one unit, hence Lucky calls the module a “bulb” rather than lamp and bulb.. I DO believe Lucky knows the difference. But I may be wrong?

Would of been nice to get a pic of 1 led and 1 h4 on at same time. camera angle made it hard to see both from outside.

I've got a set of the Hella's in both my 1967 Ford F-100 SWB and my 1967 Ford Mustang. Might be a good time to update both of them. At least these led's look like they belong in a classic car/truck. Some of the other one's that are the projection style look out of place IMO. 6=8.
