Standard Sniper

@@ZanesGarage Just wondering what boost levels in PSI are your running and how much can the Sniper control like setting up timing control/ retard??? Do you use an after market map sensor??? It seems impressive that the standard Sniper is running your boosted motor. I would like to use a Positive Displacement or centrifugal blower later on my car. Well done mate.

So the standard sniper was able to run with my turbos and a small amount of boost (7psi max) however there isn't an option for timing retard or anything like that in the standard so I ran less total timing to play it safe. I would recommend the super sniper if you are gonna be racing or running any sort of high boost. I also have the Hyperspark installed now and it makes timing adjustment very easy. Good luck!

@@fastmonaro05 I have over 20 years experience building high performance engines & high end fabrications, etc etc, & I have installed many of these Holley efi systems, from Dominator, Terminator, etc , including several Sniper units. The Sniper is a great unit, & the Super Sniper is the only version available now. There maybe a few leftover units depending on where you buy it from. The regular Sniper was there 1st unit available. The Super Sniper 650, & 1250 are either 650 hp or 1250 hp handling. They each have a 2.5 bar map sensor, & handle up to 21 psi solid. I've used these on turbos, both with centrifugal & positive displacement superchargers, & Nos. They are compatible with blow thru & draw thru. Now, they can control timing with either dual sync or hyperspark distributors, I highly recommend the hyperspark tho, it will be that much easier & better overall. You can also use an MSD box or similar for timing. However they even sell the Sniper 650 with Hyperspark distributor, coil, & CD box as a kit, because it works great together & gives best overall control. There are so many features that seem to not be mentioned too often, and probably gets overshadowed by the Dominator, Terminator, etc. But there is a decent amount that can be done from the handheld itself, but when hooked up to a laptop opens up alot. Actually a very impressive unit. From handheld, you can control static, idle, crusing, & WOT timing, the AFR's to these, & timing & AFR's to boost psi. So maintain a specific AFR according to boost, & also retard /control timing according to boost. And the list goes on. However, my only issue with these, is their Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) is notorious for problems, especially with power adders. While not always, it still happens too much. With Naturally Asperated or draw thru superchargers, (except for massive "super" blowers), the Snipers inboard FPR can be used, however I recommend spending the $150 -$200 to buy a good boost referenced Holley FPR. Not only is it a much better unit in quality, but in how it works with your setup. Forget the idea of cheap HP, if that's what you are looking for. Making power & having it reliable costs money. Don't spend money to do all of this, to turbo, SC, Nos, & the engine & everything else you put into these builds to cheap out on something important. This will be worth the extra cost. I'm not saying that you ever said about wanting it cheap, but I am just adding it just in case & or for whomever else reads my comment. Because I hear & see too many people say this, or think this, or tell others this. I don't want to hear about the couple of people who got away with, or at least claimed, that they did a turbocharged LS swap for under $1,000, or something ridiculous like that. While this could technically be done, this is more than unlikely, and very unlikely that it was all too reliable. Not to mention Looks Like a rats Nest under the hood. But people will say and do anything to make a video or be heard. I've been doing this stuff for a long time now, and building a reliable engine, building a high horsepower engine, cost money and adds up faster than most think. Regardless, I wish you luck on you build. This is a great unit and spend a little time learning some of the ins-and-outs of properly setting up these units, you will have a nice running setup

Bump the idle afr up between 13.0 and 13.8

adjust your idle screw iac should only be at 6 or under warm idle

This sniper works with 4l60e
@ZanesGarage4 жыл бұрын
The Sniper doesn't have any transmission control so you'll need to run a separate controller for a 4l60e I believe
