Can you adjust the IAC with terminator x handheld screen too ? Is it any different ?

I asked a friend of mine who has more experience with the TermX system and he said that it does work the same way with a throttle cable style. The fly by wire system uses a table to adjust it. Other than that I don’t have any more insight on the TermX system. It’s been a few years since I installed one and I never got into the adjustments on it at that time.

Great Video! New Subscriber to your channel. I have a 1969 Firebird 400 with the factory style Q-jet, It runs good but having to prime the car to start it. Thinking of switching to the sniper for start/runability & efficiency. Are you overall happy with the unit?

I’m very happy with the sniper. Before I got mine, I had installed a few at the shop I worked at in San Diego. So I was confident in the quality of them. They have their quirks, just like any fuel system but it’s been the best and easiest to deal with that I’ve worked with. Also, most of the problems with the sniper 1 have been fixed with the new sniper 2 from what I hear from my buddy who has installed a couple of the new ones now. I haven’t dealt with the sniper 2 yet but I’ve only heard positive things so far about them. The throttle response is amazing and I get between 22-25 MPG out of my 400 with a Tremec TKO 5 speed behind it. The problems I’ve had with it have been relatively easy to fix. The sticking secondaries have been resolved in the sniper 2 from what I’ve heard and the only other issue I had was I had an injector go bad. Me being a mechanic, diagnosed it and tried getting just a new injector from Holley but they wanted me to send the whole unit it. I ended up finding an injector on summit that was the same specs and didn’t have to wait for them to trouble shoot what I already knew. Those are the experiences I’ve had with it. Other than that just driving fun. I think I’m up to about 4 years with it now. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching and I appreciate the comment and questions!

I don’t use my FJ40 Land Cruiser daily. When it sits for a week or more it cranks 20-30 seconds at a time for 3-4 tries and then eventually springs to life. The Holley Sniper takes 5 seconds for the fuel charge…and then it starts instantly…WOW

It really is a good system. The few issues I’ve had over the years with mine have been easy enough to work out and the throttle response and increased fuel mileage was amazing. Before I had the sniper I had a 650 carb with vacuum secondaries and I could never get it dialed in right. It would actually lean out above 4000 RPM. It may have been too small for my setup or just really needed some extensive time to dial it in but the sniper just made it so much easier. Thanks again for the feedback and I appreciate you continuing to watch my content.

If my IAC is at 20-30% at idle and jumps up to 74% while driving shouldn’t I turn the control clockwise to correct it? I just remember you saying don’t do that?
@ogresspeedshop2 ай бұрын
If you turn the screw clockwise it does bring the IAC% down, but like I said in the video, it’ll make the TPS move up off of zero. Then you have to turn the car off to reset the TPS back to zero and basically start again. When you turn the screw counter clockwise, it doesn’t affect the TPS, only the IAC%. That’s why you start by screwing it clockwise when it’s not running and back it out to bring the IAC up after you start it again and it’s up to operating temperature. Hope that makes sense. Let me know if that helped.

I have an issue on a buddies sniper where the tps does not zero when you power down and power back up it goes straight to 23% any ideas? Thank you in advance
@ogresspeedshop3 ай бұрын
The problem sounds vaguely familiar, but not quite that high. Only thing I can think to try is a TPS reset, basically, as you crank the car, hold the throttle open and as soon as it starts release the pedal and it should reset to zero. I don’t know if it’ll work but it’s worth a try.

Right on I will give it a go if nothing else I told him I think it's worth th 40 bucks to throw a gm sensor on it since feom what im told the original from holley is a notorious fail point
@ogresspeedshop3 ай бұрын
Yeah, the temp sensor is the other one we always switched out for the ones we installed too. The one that came with the sniper always read 20 degrees different than actual and would throw off the sniper. The gm one, can’t remember the part number is the better one. Hope it works out for ya.
