They are called pull up or pull down resistors. Some ECU's have internal selectable pull up or pull down resistors that you can turn on via the software. A Pull up resistor pulls the voltage high. A pull down pulls the output to ground.

I run a driveshaft curve for the first portion of the run, then transition to a front vs rear wheelspeed table so I can grab the scramble without running into the "dots". I have some advanced options that will only allow it to add the scramble if wheelspeed is below X%

Especially on low grip surfaces I don’t use the “perfect pass” style TC. I use a series of IO and tables to create a slip ratio based TC that will remove or even ADD boost and timing accordingly and if necessary cut ignition as well. Don’t have to mess with time or resets or anything. Don’t have to guess what the DS curve should be for each road. Very versatile. Something to maybe try out.
@RiversideRacecraftКүн бұрын
Slip tables are really really bad on bumpy surfaces that’s why they hardly get used
@RiversideRacecraftКүн бұрын
Let me clarify, on some cars it hardly gets used. And it’s very annoying on cars that wheelie out back
@TherendonfamiliaКүн бұрын
@@RiversideRacecraft it works perfectly fine for both conditions if set up correctly. And if you are doing wheelies at the end of the run you have other issues to resolve first.
@RiversideRacecraftКүн бұрын
@@Therendonfamilia it all just saves a tuneup that was missed for the surface anyway so I guess its whoever misses less and their preferred way to skin the cat wins.
@TherendonfamiliaКүн бұрын
@@RiversideRacecraft that’s a good way of putting it but they aren’t equal. If you miss on your DS curve low on perfect pass you will not be able to go any faster than that curve even if the surface or the chassis surprises you and will allow for it. With slip ratio you will, if the grip is there, it will not step in. In my scenario it will actually add power instead. If you miss by putting your DS curve too high you lose the protection of the TC because it’s too high to step in effectively. So with perfect pass you can screw yourself with the power settings AND the DS curve. With slip ratio you can concentrate on only the power settings. you don’t have to worry about guessing the DS curve also. Mine allows for about a 0.8 error range. Bunch of ways to skin a cat tho 🤷🏻♂️.

I’d say put it on a switch. It solves the burnout issue and you can turn it off when you’re confident you don’t need it depending on the track conditions. Being forced to have it always on I would say is not ideal.
@2hacksinashackКүн бұрын
At the end of the day, it’s about what works best for you. I understand why a lot of racers don’t like the idea of the master enable switch. Cause you can forget to turn it on and possibly cost you a race. Interested to see how it turns out.

Disable the TC and tune the car by air, fuel and spark! You can add timing with your scramble or take away timing with your bump to go faster or slower on a pass! Provided your suspension is set right or close to right! Just my opinion. Can't win if you can't make any power!
