I'm first;) Always love this groovy song; very different for The Hollies-sounds like CCR!

A classic, iconic and thoroughly enjoyable, not to mention enduringly popular song decades later, for all the reasons you mentioned.

First time I heard this on the radio, I thought for sure it was CCR. Sounds so similar to Green River.

One of my favourite songs. You just have to get into the groove with it. Don't worry about analyzing. It is a song in America where you would be out for a good time and dancing and being attracted to the opposite sex. The Hollies were a big band. Crosby was a part of the band of Crosby Stills Nash and Young. He was starting out then. The song played a lot in Canada when I was just turning 20. Love your reactions. You are not afraid to look at all kinds of music. I like that. I grew up listening to a variety of genres and this has served me well as a retired social worker. It looks like your husband has been exposed to more music in his growing up years, so you are balanced. You are a lovely couple and I really enjoy your reactions. Cheers

Graham Nash was in this band (gone by this song) not David Crosby.

The Hollies was a British band. Graham Nash was in the Hollies before he joined Crosby, Nash, Stills and Young. Long Cool Woman was a hit in the UK before the US.

Most prolific group...ever, hundreds of brilliant songs. Second only to the Beatles for the number of top ten hits over here in the UK. Try listening to ' don't let me down' or 'lonely hobo lullaby' by them, you won't be disappointed. Thanks for sharing and peace to you all.

Didn't realize this was the Hollies, I though the song was by Creedence Clearwater Revival but that song I was thinking of is called Green River. The two songs sound quite similar I think.

Yes I don't know if they got permission from CCR or even needed it but they kind of ripped off CCR but if you are going to rip somebody off you better do a good job of it and the Hollies really did this is a great song and a lot of white people hurt themselves trying to dance to this one.
@robertwilloughby80504 жыл бұрын
No, Fogerty ain't hurt about this one. In fact, he's sung it at encores more than once.
